House of the Dragon introduced quite a lot of interesting characters to the fans, specifically those from the Targaryen family. This entire series, of course, surrounds the civil war in House Targaryen, Green and Black.
During this time, House Targaryen was at the height of its power with many powerful dragon riders. Fans have already seen many riders and dragons battle each other in the series and show off the strength of their bond. However, only a handful of them can stand out at the very top.
Baela – Moondancer
Baela is the daughter of Prince Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon. She bonded with Moondancer at a very young age and the two are very connected. They make a fantastic duo and can wipe out the vast majority of Riders in battle.
Baela is incredibly powerful with Moondancer. In fact, fans have already seen what she's capable of, and she'll definitely be fighting more awesome battles later on that will definitely highlight her strength as an incredible dragon rider as well as her bond with Moondancer.
Aegon II-Sunfyre
Aegon II Targaryenwho usurped Rhaenyra Targaryen may not be the strongest, but he and his dragon Sunfyre make quite a formidable duo. Fans know that Sunfyre is the most magnificent dragon ever seen in the history of Game of Thrones.
Although not the biggest or the strongest, Sunfyre is still formidable and with Aegon, Sunfyre is almost unstoppable. Their connection is truly special and that's what makes them a very exciting duo in battle.
Rhaenyra-Syrax
Rhaenyra Targaryen allied herself with Syrax a long time agoand it's safe to say she's one of the most unique dragon riders fans have seen in the story.
actually Rhaenyra was the first dragon rider that fans saw House of the Dragonwith Syrax being the very first dragon to appear in the series. Rhaenyra and Syrax form a special bondand it's almost as if they are connected telepathically. The two feel pain together, they are one in the face of any threat.
Rhaenys-Meleys
Of all the dragons fans have seen in House of the Dragon, Meleys remains the fastest of them all. She is also quite old which makes her a ferocious dragon in battle. Meleys rode Rhaenys Targaryenand fans know these two are pretty special.
Together, they can take down even the most ferocious foes, but fans should keep in mind that neither of them are the strongest in the series individually or as a duo.
Aemond-Vhagar
Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar make a formidable duo who is easily one of the most powerful in Westeros. The fact is that Vhagar is the most powerful dragon in Westeros at the moment because he has bravely survived many battles and is also the largest living right now. Vhagar can swallow a dragon whole and burn down a city in minutes. It is a truly fearsome dragon and definitely the most powerful force in all of Westeros right now.
However, Aemond's bond with Vhagar is not as strong and there are better bonds between dragon riders that fans have seen in the series. Still, Aemond can take out just about anyone, and defeat in battle is almost out of the question for them. The most anyone can do against them is either team up with someone else to defeat them or wage a battle in some way. Otherwise, both Aemond and Vhagar are simply unbeatable.
Daemon-Caraxes
Daemon Targaryen and Caraxes are a formidable duo and certainly one of the most dangerous in Westeros.. Caraxes is neither the biggest nor the strongest dragon in Westeros. However, it is definitely the cruelest. The Bloodwyrm is ruled by Daemon Targaryen, who mirrors his own personality, and the two share a bond that transcends all understanding.
While Caraxes may not be the strongest on their own, with Daemon they are a force to be reckoned with, so even Vhagar and Aemond couldn't defeat them despite having the strength advantage in battle. Quite clearly, Daemon and Caraxes make for the most dangerous dragonrider-dragon duo fans have seen in all of House of the Dragon yet. Of course, as the series continues, fans will see more of these power couples to add here.
