World Naruto is full of incredibly powerful ninjas, all of whom excel at different things and some of whom are particularly proud of their defensive abilities. Kishimoto has created a great power system where many characters excel at different types of Jutsu, some of which take defensive abilities to the next level. While all top tiers have reasonably strong defenses, there are some that have defenses so high they are practically impenetrable, and these are the characters that are the most durable in battle.

Eight Trigrams of Rotation
The Hyuga clan has gained immense control over the Byakugan over the years, given that they are direct descendants of Hamura Otsutsuki. They have also developed a specific fighting style that relies on the Gentle Fist. The Hyuga have controlled the flow of chakra through their Tenketsu to a level where they can actually radiate chakra from them.
As they spin their bodies at dramatic speeds, it creates a chakra barrier so strong that it can deflect the vast majority of jutsu fired at it. Even the attacks from the Ten-Tails couldn't penetrate rotation of the eight trigrams from the Hyuga clan. The masters of this technique have achieved a tremendously strong defense that few can break, and this makes it truly special. While not the best or most reliable defenses in the Naruto series, they are certainly very difficult to beat.
Shikotsumyaku

Shikotsumyaku is one of the most underrated Kekkei Genkai that exists in the world of Naruto, and is now mostly extinct after the death of the Kaguya clan. The last capable person to properly wield this power was Kimimaro, who stood as the main antagonist in the first part of the Naruto series.
Those with the power of Shikotsumyaku can freely manipulate bone structure and change things like bone density. Their bones are so hard that they are virtually impossible to break through. They can also manipulate the structure of their bones at will to create defensive structures and even inject them into their surroundings to such an extent that the bones alter the entire terrain. The defensive abilities of these bones make them harder than steel and can be incredibly difficult for the most powerful offensive jutsu to penetrate. Many people in the Naruto world call the Shikotsumyaku the ultimate defense for this very reason.
Fivefold Rashomon
Fivefold Rashomon is a very unique jutsu used by Hashirama Senju in his battle against Madara Uchiha. This jutsu places five absolutely massive barriers in front of the user, so strong that they can contain and deflect even an actual Tailed Beast Ball.
While it's not the strongest defense, it can pretty much tank a mini nuke with ease, and any incoming projectile can resist using it. Orochimaru used a lesser version of this jutsu in the story, but Hashirama was its only true master. It will certainly serve as one of the best defenses offered in the series.
Full Body Susanoo
Quite easily, one of the most impressive defensive abilities in the world of Naruto comes through the Uchiha Mangekyo Sharingan, which provides the power of Susanoo. In its basic form, Susano'o allows the user to create only a skeletal structure around themselves. As the Mangekyo Sharingan grows stronger and control over it improves, the Susanoo itself can grow dramatically.
Once the Mangekyo Sharingan is fully matured, and especially when transformed into the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, reducing the burden on the body, the user can even manifest a complete construct known as the Complete Body Susanoo. This Susanoo is incredibly massive and towers over small hills. A single slash of his blade can cut an entire mountain range in half, and his power is such that he can basically destroy continents with ease.
Susanoo has tremendous defensive abilities, so the vast majority of powerful jutsu cannot penetrate them. Only those with powers within the Six Paths range can break through Susanoo, and everyone else is simply powerless against it. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara Uchiha showed a glimpse of the Susanoo's power when he unleashed it in a battle against the Five Kage, and it was clear how powerless they were against it.

User: Six Paths Senjutsu Wielders
Masashi Kishimoto introduced the Six Paths abilities towards the end of the Naruto series, and these abilities allowed access to some unique abilities such as the Truth Seeking Orbs. The truth-seeking orbs were first awakened by Obito Uchiha after becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails. After him, Madara Uchiha also gained access to them, and after awakening the Six Paths Senjutsu, Naruto Uzumaki also gained access to them.
Orbs seeking the truth consist of each individual element along with Yin, Yang and Yin-Yang release. With all of these abilities, Truthseeking Orbs can essentially nullify any and all jutsu. What's more, they also act similarly to Dust Release, breaking down anything on a molecular level when touched. A defense made from truth-seeking Orbs can nullify almost any jutsu in existence. However, they have a major weakness that comes through Senjutsu. Any attack that is powered by sage chakra can break through Truthseeking Orbs, but other than that they provide maximum defense in battle and can also double as an attack.

Shinra Tensei
The power of the Rinnegan is absolutely immense, providing great offensive capabilities but also tremendous defensive capabilities. With the Deva Path, the user can essentially control attractive and repulsive forces, and depending on how much chakra is put into the repulsion, can essentially serve as an impenetrable defense.
All powerful attacks launched at the user can be easily parried by someone who is a Rinnegan master with enough chakra. For example, Pain could blow up an entire village Shinra Tenseiand with such chakra, he can practically stop even Six Paths-level attacks, albeit at a great cost. Shinra Tensei undoubtedly offers one of the best defenses in the Naruto series.
Yata Mirror
Yata mirror is one of two ethereal weapons in the world of Naruto that Itachi Uchiha attained at an unknown time. Both ethereal weapons are incredibly powerful, and the Yata Mirror in particular has great defensive abilities. Basically, this mirror can be used as a shield and its abilities are such that it can nullify all attacks that exist in the world of Naruto. Yata Mirror can block even the strongest attacks by simply adapting to it and resisting it with its opposite nature.
Unlike Truth-Seeking Orbs, Yata Mirror does not have a weakness for Senjutsu. It nullifies all attacks, no matter how strong they are or what they are made of, and is part of what made Itachi Uchiha an invincible shinobi.
