One piece has always had a massive cast of characters, with some getting more attention than others. Whether it was before or after the timeskip, readers were introduced to different characters and got a glimpse of what they can do. We've looked at the different roles the various pirate crews have through the Straw Hats, as well as their other notable rivals and allies. We all know about captains, cooks, navigators, and medics, but tons of other jobs are important to the success of a crew.
Snipers are often overlooked, but they can be among the most valuable crew members. Their long-range abilities make them not only excellent for overall crew support, but they can also be dangerous obstacles to some of the stronger opponents their crews face. We've seen a number of snipers strut their stuff since the start of the series, and after the timeskip, this bunch stood out as the strongest around.
The 8 Most Memorable One-Part Quotes of All Time, Ranked
These unforgettable One Piece quotes changed the series forever.
Charlotte Perospero
He may not be as powerful as his younger brother Katakuri, but Perospero is still a nasty piece of work who was an important part of the Big Mom Pirates and served as an officer. Perospero's Pero Pero no Mi Devil Fruit allows him to create and manipulate candy, which he does to great effect.
Perospero can use his devil fruit ability to craft a variety of weapons, being proficient with clubs, axes, and even a candy bow that shoots candy arrows. His sniping skills are solid and his versatility with a variety of weapons coupled with his Haki for weaponry and observation make him a difficult matchup for almost anyone.
Capone Beg
The captain of Fire Tank Pirates is as dangerous as he looks. A member of the Worst Generation, Bege can easily turn things around in battle thanks to his amazing Shiro Shiro no Mi, making him a living weapon that can handle almost any situation thrown at him.
In addition to his incredible devil fruit, Bege is also an incredible marksman who shows off amazing skills with his Tommy Gun. The pistol isn't too bad either, and his Devil Fruit only enhances his skills. He can be overlooked at times, but Bege is a really talented shooter who can turn any situation around with his Devil Fruit ability.
Hibari
We haven't seen much from Hibari, but the little that Oda has shown us gives us a pretty clear picture of what she's capable of. Hibari, a Marine Corps commander and member of SWORD, may come across as a little green at times, but she's actually a very competent sniper.

Hibari favors the rifle as her weapon of choice, showing incredible skill and accuracy with it. She's great at long range, can provide solid cover and take out multiple enemies without anyone noticing. Hibari uses Observation and Armament Haki, the former being a big help with her attraction abilities.
Usopp
The Straw Hat Crew Sniper has come a long way since he left Syrup Village with Luffy, Nami, and Zoro. Usopp's cowardice and overreactions may bother some, and even though he is confirmed to be the weakest Straw Hat, he still managed to grow into a great sniper.
He'll never be able to deal with the main threat alone, but Usopp can handle grunts and smaller enemies just fine, as well as providing support to the rest of the crew in various fights. He's incredibly resourceful, crafting a variety of weapons, and makes up for his lack of raw power with solid marksmanship and creativity (along with moments of bravery here and there), which has come in handy more than once during the adventures of the Straw Hat crew.
Iso
A former member of the Whitebeard Pirates' crew and protector of the Kouzuki family, Izo was an accomplished warrior with years of experience behind him. Favoring a pair of flintlock pistols, Izo was a force to be reckoned with and displayed some of the best shooting skills in the series.
Izo was once able to disarm King with a single shot and could even charge his Hakim bullets to launch powerful slashing and stabbing attacks at his opponents. Developing his skills from a young age, Izo was a reliable, proficient sniper who could take on some of the toughest enemies.
Van Augur
Blackbeard is one of the biggest threats left in the series, with his Devil Fruit abilities making him an incredibly difficult opponent. But even though he might outshine his crew, that doesn't mean they're a drag. Combining his marksmanship and teleportation abilities via Wapu Wapu no Mi, Van Augur is one of the most dangerous members of the Blackbeard Pirates crew.
Van Augur can hit a target from an incredible distance, has an accuracy unmatched in the series, and boasts excellent vision that allows him to perform feats that most snipers cannot even imagine. His Devil Fruit ensures that he isn't just a stationary target like most shooters, giving him an advantage in situations where he might otherwise be one-dimensional.
Yasopp
Yasopp may not be the best dad in the world, but he is an amazing shooter. A sniper and senior officer for the Red Hair Pirates, Yasopp didn't do much in the series, but he made an impression with how little screen time he got.
Yasopp is even more accurate than Van Augur, never missing his target and can hit targets from equally impressive distances. Usopp has a lot of his father's potential in him, but he's not quite up to Yasopp's skill level yet. Like his son, Yasopp likes to use some unconventional ammunition at times. He favors a musket which, as we've seen, has some kind of explosive ammo powerful enough to take down an entire ship, which is exactly what he did with Going Luffy-senpai from the Barto Club. As we get closer to the series finale, we'll see more and more of what makes Yasoppa such a force, and maybe even be surpassed by Usopp before the series ends. But for now, Red Hair sniper is the strongest sniper we've seen after the timeskip.
