Since they are only weak to ground type, many trainers are known to have at least one electric type on their team. Electric-type is known for having many fast Pokemon in its roster, with standout members including Luxray and Boltund being just a few examples. Meanwhile, this type is also closely associated with thunderstorms, with some even being the cause of such natural phenomena.
Like many other types, the electric type debuted in the Kanto region. Many of these Pokemon are still very popular today, from the chunky Magneton to the energetic Raichu. Of course, compared to many of its peers, the Mouse Pokémon Pikachu will probably remain the most popular Cantonian Electric type.
The electrode is well known for explosion use
Even the slightest change could cause the electrode to catch fire
IN Pokemon There are many random items scattered around the world in buildings and tall grass. A lone Poké Ball is one such item, but a wise trainer knows to be careful before approaching it. After all, a lone Poké Ball might actually be a wild Voltorb, ready to use its devastating Explosion move. Even worse, it might not be Voltorb at all, but his evolved form, Electrode, which is known to produce even bigger explosions.
Electrode is a powerful Pokémon, but a trainer must be very careful with it, as even the slightest shock can cause the Ball Pokémon to suddenly explode. In the wild, the Electrode is known to live in hordes and must be dealt with quickly and with extreme caution. However, many trainers have been known to work with these electric Pokémon with great success. Besides Danny from Navel Gym, Vermilion City Gym leader Visquez owns an electrode that was even able to knock out Ash's powerful Gengar.
Electabuzz is always looking for electricity to eat
Some power plants blame Electabuzz for blackouts
Electabuzz, an electric Pokémon, is popular with trainers, but is believed to be a nuisance by those who work in power plants. This is because Electabuzz can actually eat electricity; in fact, it's a popular Electric type dish. While this isn't always the case, whenever there's a power outage in the city, the reason is likely to result in a horde of Electabuzz eating electricity at a nearby power plant. As such, some power plants will have ground-type Pokemon that will act as guards to keep wild Electabuzz away.
Many Pokemon trainers around the world are known to use Electabuzz, as well as its pre-evolved Elekid or its evolved form Electivire. Aside from the failed Gym Leader Kaz, there is a trainer with a better reputation who also uses Electabuzz, Rudy. The Trovita Gym leader, Rudy, uses several different types of Pokemon, with Electabuzz acting as his ace. This usually strong Electric Pokemon is very resistant to most attacks and can knock out its opponent (including Ash's Pikachu) with a single hit.
Magneton has a connection to sunspots
A magneton is actually three magnetites joined together
Magnemite, common in grasslands and power plants, is small but capable of generating powerful lightning. When three Magnemites fuse, they evolve into one Magneton, although they are technically still separate Magnemites. These Pokémon are known to scan their surroundings by emitting mysterious radio waves, especially if they want to stay safe from potential threats. The magnetic force that surrounds a Magnetic Pokémon can be very dangerous to electronics, which is why many trainers are advised to keep the magneton in their Poke Ball until it is safe to do so.
Magnemite and Magneton are found all over the world, from Kanto to Kalos; Clemont from Lumiose Gym has a magneton in his list that can actually split into individual Magnemites and thus transform in some way. In Kanto, several trainers have been seen working with Magnet Pokémon, both for battle and everyday life. For example, the wild Magneton, while working with his Magnemite friends, once saved Ash and his friends from being attacked by Grimer. Meanwhile, Magnemite trainer Ethan possesses a unique Magneton that has actually evolved to save his friends, new and old, from Team Rocket's latest plan.

Jolteon can unleash devastating lightning bolts
An electric-type Eeveelution that is very sensitive
Although not as popular as Fairy-type Sylveon or Dark-type Umbreon, Electric-type Eeveelution Jolteon is still very popular among fans. To get a Jolteon, the trainer must give their Eevee the Thunder Stone, which will start the evolution process. Lightning Pokémon is a very sensitive species, it gets angry easily and thus recharges its energy. So this electric type will work best with patient trainers, especially since its fur will look like a needle whenever it gets startled.
Ethan, Volkner, and Sparky are the three known Jolteon trainers from the original anime; Trace and Sayo are also seen using their own Jolteon Pokemon evolution. However, some fans may not know that Red himself had a powerful Jolteon in the miniseries Pokémon Origins. Like his trainer, Red's Jolteon has a strong sense of justice and worked with the legendary hero to stop Team Rocket's violent plans after learning of Cubone's tragic past. The same Lightning Pokémon stayed by Red's side as he tried to defeat the Elite Four and the Champion, showing off his impressive (and literally shocking) displays of lightning generation.
Raichu is the evolved form of Pikachu
Ace of formidable Lt. Surge
Compared to pre-evolution Pikachu, Raichu is not that famous. Regardless, Mouse Pokémon is still a very popular Pokémon and a favorite among many fans. In fact, the Electric-type is one of the few Pokemon with not just one Mega Evolution, but two. Both Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y debuted in Mega Dimensions DLC pro Pokemon Legends: ZAand each excels in its own unique methods of working with electricity.
Lieutenant Surge's mighty Raichu is one of the most famous animated mouse Pokemon in history, even almost convincing Ash to evolve his Pikachu into one. However, Pikachu remained adamant in his desire to remain as he was, a choice Ash wholeheartedly supports. Goh, one of Ash's former traveling companions, also possesses Raichu, who acts as a peacemaker not only to the rest of his roster, but to any group he encounters. Although she doesn't use moves as often or as powerfully as Lieutenant Surge's own, Raichu is still capable of unleashing Thunderbolt's intense attacks.
Zapdos forces can generate intense summer storms
Zapdos usually nest in storm clouds
As one of Kanto's legendary bird Pokemon, Zapdos is closely related to Lugia alongside Articun and Moltres. In fact, the electric Pokemon had a major supporting role Pokemon the Movie 2000where she was captured by the Collector Lawrence III along with her peers when the adversary wished to pull Lugia out of her slumber. The enraged legendary Pokemon posed a very real threat to the region and had to be calmed down by Ash and Lugia. Like other Electric-type Pokemon, Zapdos is capable of generating awesome Thunderbolt attacks, but its sheer power makes them much, much more dangerous.
In the anime, Zapdos made his debut in the episode “As Clear As Crystal”, acting as the guardian of a magical crystal that powered a nearby lake. With the power of this gem, the lake could heal any Electric-type Pokemon. Unfortunately, Team Rocket tried to steal the crystal and then Zapdos when they realized its power. Fortunately, with the help of Ash and his friends, their plan backfires and Zapdos manages to deliver a nasty electric shock to his enemies.
Pikachu is loved for its cuteness and its strength
Pikachu is undoubtedly the most popular Pokemon of all. Acting as the franchise's mascot since the 1990s, fans around the world love Pikachu for its adorable looks, friendly nature and sheer power. However, Mouse Pokémon's popularity really grew thanks to the original Pokemon anime. In the very first episode, Ash Ketchum suddenly became a trainer for an independent Pikachu after losing the chance to choose another starter.
Although the two had trouble seeing eye-to-eye at first, Ash and Pikachu quickly became best friends after the first episode. From the very beginning, it soon became apparent that Ash's Pikachu was unusually strong for its species, even though it hadn't evolved in the Raich. Over time, as Ash traveled from Kanto to Galar, Pikachu's own power only grew and became even more impressive. This power would not only allow Ash to win the Masters Eight tournament near the end of the series, but it would also give Pikachu the power he needed to hold his own against legendary Pokémon.
