The added frog from Baldur's Gate 3 can ruin your honor mode run

There are plenty of ways to ruin your honor mode in Baldur's Gate 3. Dying, lying, and even looking the wrong way at an NPC can cause all your hard work to go up in flames. Honor mode is not the time to try new things in your gameplay; just stick to a known patch, weigh your options carefully, and get the damn achievement.

Of all the things that could ruin your run, the Addled Frog is the most inconspicuous in the first act. How much damage could a cute flip flop do to your party? It turns out that just talking at the wrong time can end things for you as soon as they start. Some players have actually already fallen victim to it.

Don't talk to the added frog until you deal with Aunt Ethel

An image of Baldur's Gate 3 showing the familiar frog.

Auntie Ethel is one of the most interesting NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3. So interesting, in fact, that Larian brought her back for a second round in Act Three. However, the hag is not only tormenting Mayrina, but also the forest creatures around her hut. So much so that if you approach the Addled Frog before dealing with her, you will most likely trigger a fight and end your honor run as well.

Unfortunately, Redditor onyxdk69 found this out the hard way, resulting in them having to start their honor mode all over again. If you get into a fight with it, the damn frog has a ridiculously strong acid attack and dodges almost anything thrown at it. You could grind out a victory, but depending on how much progress you made in the first act, you could easily defeat the entire group.

If you talk to her after defeating Aunt Ethel, the frog will be in a much happier mood and will even lead you to a hidden stash. I bet Larian laughed at that. Another stupid way to end a run in Baldur's Gate 3's honor mode.
