The best Black Ops 7 Zombies weapon class will surprise you

As Call of Duty Zombies have evolved in the 17 years since A world at war and Black Ops 7as well as the meta, with weapons considered to be the best weapons obtainable through Mystery Boxes, Wall Buys, or Weapon Loadouts, it changes regularly. In the early days of this mod, when ammo was extremely scarce and survival was easier said than done, LMGs were king. Players would jump for joy when they got the MG42 A world at war or RPK in the original Black Opswhile the LSAT was a powerhouse in a few Black Ops 2 maps it could be used on. Black Ops 3 was the last straw for this weapon class, as the Dingo was iconic, even though it's also the game where shotguns came to dominate. The KRM-262 was ideal for buying on the wall, while the Haymaker was a boss-melter available in a box and in BO4Mog 12 was another essential wallbuy. Black Ops Cold War and BO6 continued this trend through the Huaer 77, ASG 89 and Maelstrom Black Ops 7 marks the birth of a new meta star: pistols.

The best Black Ops 7 Zombies shotgun isn't even a shotgun… It's a Jager 45 pistol

Shotguns available in Black Ops 7 they are pretty poor, only the M10 Breacher is worth using. The Echo-12's two-shot burst makes it awkward to use against a horde, and while the Akita's rapid-fire shotgun is satisfying for mowing down a group of enemies, it eats up ammo extremely quickly. Fortunately, the era of shotgun lovers didn't end, as the M10 was joined (and outshined) by the Pack-a-Punched Jager 45. Like the SVD, it went from sniper to shotgun when it was upgraded in Black Ops 6The Jager 45 trades its signature pistol cartridges for shotguns, and feels like a satisfying successor Black Ops 2 arm the executioner. It has all the benefits of a pistol, is quick to set up, move around and change while still feeling like a traditional shotgun.

The ideal Zombie cartridge for the Jager 45 pistol is as follows:

  • Muzzle: Monolithic suppressor
  • Barrel: 9.6” MFS Vital Ace Barrel
  • Magazine: Goliath-X Extended+
  • Back handle: Ranger Lite Grip
  • Laser: Vector Sync Lazer
  • Fire Mods: .45 Cal FMJ
  • Warehouse (prioritized after unlocking): Dual control

It has been known that some attachments do not match their description in BO7 Zombies, so if the FMJ turns out not to have the promised Penetration Power, a trade to the Match Grade Trigger would be recommended for its rapid fire capabilities.

The ability to blast through the undead with not just one, but two shotguns makes the Jager 45 the most powerful and satisfying primary weapon available in Black Ops 7. While some will certainly wish it could shoot explosives like the Mustang and Sally, the shotgun overhaul is a ton of fun that will be more beneficial to those looking to rack up tons of headshots. Perhaps the best thing about the Jager 45 is that there is no need to level up Black Ops 7 to get it, or spend a permanent unlock token on it, since it's one of the game's starting weapons. This means players can start leveling up and working on Dual Wield right away, maybe even throwing in a Double Weapon XP token to reach shotgun nirvana even faster.

Black Ops 7 Zombies Has Another Star Gun To Use (And One To Avoid)

CODA 9 in Black Ops 7 via Treyarch / Call of Duty

While the Velox 5.7's 3-round burst is unfortunately tied to the Jager 45, as its damage is comparable to something like the RK5 from Black Ops 3the third and final pistol is right up there with the Jager as one of the best zombie weapons in the game Black Ops 7. The Coda 9 is the spiritual successor to the KAP-40 – highlighted by the name NO KAP Pack-a-Punch – and it certainly lives up to the lofty expectations. Once Pack-a-Punched, this weapon has an incredible amount of ammo, which would be justifiable if it had no damage. However, his DPS is also top-notch, meaning players can blast through several hordes before having to visit the ammo crate. By the time they get through all of his ammo, especially if he's aiming for the head, they'll probably drop Max Ammo at their feet to keep the fight going.

Armament similar to the Jager 45 is recommended, as zombie attachments such as suppressors are always a must for extra damage, and barrels that increase damage when fired are viable for all weapons. However, the Coda 9 is satisfying even without dual wielding, so players can only focus on boosting her stats to make an already powerful weapon more powerful.

Call of Duty Pistol zombies have always flirted with being meta, as there have been handguns over the years that have really wowed players. Mustang and Sally (M1911), Boomhilda (Mauser C96) and Z-Harmony (Strife) all come to mind as some of the greats. Having two extremely powerful pistols on the first day is pretty surprising since the last time it probably happened was in the year Black Ops 2 with the M1911 and the Executioner – even then the M1911 was pretty dangerous without the PhD Flopper. Assuming the revolver comes Black Ops 7 post-launch, a type of weapon that regularly proves itself in the mode, the pistol class will only get better. With Coda and Jager being so dominant, it's already the most impressive weapon class BO7 Zombies.
