As a defender Catcher mainly focuses on keeping the rest of the team safe with his excellent swordsmanship and valiant defensive abilities, shielding the team and applying all kinds of powerful physical attacks to enemies across the field. While he may not be your run operator often as you favor more DPS oriented operators, Catcher is still a strong choice for parties that might need a little extra defense in their otherwise offensively strong team builds.

With such an emphasis on his physical abilities, it won't surprise you that his main attribute is his power Strengthand his intransigence Will comes in close behind as his secondary attribute.

If you are looking for a way to cause more physical damage with other strength-based operators and at the same time mitigating the damage your team takes in combat, the Catcher will likely be a mainstay in any team game for Arknights: Endfield that relies on physical prowess in elemental travails. Find ways to play him well, giving him a steady stream of statuses like Weaken, Vulnerable, and Snocked Down with a wide variety of balanced offensive and defensive moves in his kit.

Exemplary

six star

  • Increase in strength

  • Attack boost

  • Physical damage boost

While the physical damage boost is dependent on using Catcher's Battle Skill or Ultimate, both of which recharge quite slowly compared to some other operators, the great sword Exemplar is still a great choice due to the impressive number of physical buffs that Catcher offers. They don't attack as often as other physical characters, so it's best when it counts!

Former Finery

six star

  • Will Boost

  • Maximum HP Boost

  • Attack boost

Former Finery Greatsword probably pairs better with a healing character, but with general defensive abilities and increases to both Will and max HP, Catcher is a great contender to use Former Finery Greatsword if you're looking for additional uses for your six-star weapons.

OBJ a heavy burden

Five star

  • Increase in strength

  • Maximum HP Boost

  • Will Boost

His signature weapon, the Catcher, is almost designed to play with the OBJ Heavy Burden Greatsword in Arknights: Endfield. It offers a boost to both of its stats (with a flat power boost for the former and a flat boost to secondary attributes for the latter if you choose to give this weapon to someone else in line), as well as an increase to the Catcher's maximum HP.

Akekuri

As one of the better starting physical characters when you start Headhunting in Arknights: Endfield, you'll find that Catcher he does best when placed on teams with physical damagequads that focus on dealing as many physical damage types and status vulnerabilities as possible.

A good way to do this is by pairing Catcher with physical operators for the smoothest synergy time on the battlefield. Your default character in Terminal administrator is a great choice due to their similar abilities for physical damage and physical torment in combat and the free-to-play operator Chen Qianyu who joins at the start of the game's main mission seamlessly fills the secondary slot to double the physical damage your team is capable of dealing.

In this setup Catcher plays a primarily a defensive roleit sets up a status torment for Endmin to drive home with Chen Qianyu on the sideline and deal heavy damage all the time.

The fourth slot for good Catcher team builds depends a lot on which other operators you have. Akekuri he's the best 4-star character to include in this lineup, usefully regenerating SP and helping more offensive teammates use their stronger attacks even faster than normal. But if you managed to pull it off, Pogranichnik is a better slot choice than Akekuri, replenishing more SP and dealing much better damage.

We wouldn't recommend using Catcher on any elemental team comps you've built so far in Arknights: Endfield, as his physical buffs and damage types won't do much for Arts characters that focus on elemental damage or ailments.

Catcher Capability Overview and Upgrade Priority

Catcher's set features a variety of offensive and defensive moves with a focus on skills to keep teammates safe as well as a defensive operator.

Catcher's full potential screen in Arknights Endfield.

  • Catcher's Basic attack deals up to four physical damage sequences, including an impressive 22 Staggers, when you Final Strike with him as your controlled operator.

  • Calling his defensive abilities for his Combat skillCatch grants himself and all nearby teammates a protection status with his large shield, which restores some of your SP when used. If an enemy makes a Catcher attack on a teammate with the protection status, they will receive knockback with physical damage and applied vulnerability.

  • Offensive and defensive at the same time, Catcher's Combined skill slams down on enemies, dealing physical damage while protecting himself and another nearby teammate. Triggers when your controlled operator is below 40 percent health, or when an enemy attacks to try to stop it.

    • If you don't control the Catcher when he uses this combo skill, the controlled operator will take priority when deciding which teammate to protect next to him. If you use it, the teammate seems to be chosen randomly.

  • He focuses more on his offensive power than his defense, Catcher final he swings his greatsword twice to deal good physical damage to nearby enemies and weaken them, before following up with another slash that deals even more physical damage and knocks back any enemies he hits, making them vulnerable.

As a defender, you'll primarily want to upgrade Catcher's defensive skills and abilities, with a particular focus on his combat skills, so you can start to amplify how strong his shield can be. From there, his Ultimate and Combo Skill should take precedence, with his Basic Attack relegated to last, given how many much stronger damage-dealing operators you'll be running with Catcher.

As you continue to pull more copies of Catcher from Arknights: Endfield banners and increase his potential, you will begin to unlock his combat talents. The former offers an extra bit of defense for every Will point he has, and the latter improves his Ultimate, causing him to create shockwaves on impact that deal significant physical damage to any enemy they hit.
