Ball x Pit is a brick breaking roguelite game with some light base building elements. The goal of the game is to develop orbs, collect new characters and slowly descend into a pit of increasing difficulty. There are a variety of characters, balls and strategies that you can use in the game.
The progression is pretty straightforward, although this guide will cover some key areas such as which buildings to build first, how to unlock new blueprints, and the best character/ball combinations.
Characters, Ball Fusion And Evolution
Here is a breakdown of the game mechanics to get you started in Ball x Pit.
Traits And Balls
Each character has a default starting ball. At the start of the game, it's The Warrior with the Bleed ball as default, or The Achy Finger with Burn as default.
Each character has a unique trait. These characters are unlocked by completing levels and unlocking character house plans.
Character houses must be built on your base. We will cover base building later in the guide.

The best characters in Ball x Pit
Due to different starting orbs and character traits, not all characters in Ball x Pit are built the same.
We've had the most success with characters like The Achy Finger because Burn is a strong starting ball; Flagellant because balls bouncing off the bottom of the screen is an underrated trait that can double your damage; and Cogitator because the character it just selects upgrades for youand it seems to be doing it pretty well too.
Experiment with different characters. When you unlock Matchmaker plan, you are able to bring two characters to run. This allows you to start planning early evolutions (like Burn and Freeze for early Freeze Flame) to get you through the harder levels.
Ball evolution and fusion
Two orb of the third level can develop if they have potential development. You can see the full list of all possible ball combinations and evolutions in Ball x Pit here.
Ideally, you want to plan Evolve your orbs to maximize their power while emptying slots for more orbs.
You can too fuse your balls together. This can be done with any two level three balls. Both spheres do not need to be developed. For example, you could insurance policy A level three cell with a level three Vampire Lord create a Lord of the Vampires which divides into multiples of itself. These can create very powerful combinations.
Progression and base building
There are two ways to progress in Ball x Pit: collecting blueprints for new buildings and building those buildings at your base.
Buildings cost raw materials (wheat, wood and stone) and gold. You have to manually send your characters to build buildings by bouncing off them.
The best buildings to build first
This is a combination of new character housing (new characters are always fun and also unlock potential new combos with their launch balls) as well as early resource buildings like wheat fields and forests.
Your characters can harvest resources between runs. You want to send your characters to harvest between each run you make.
Later in the game you get the option to send your characters on several harvest runs, though resources take a while to build up so it's often not worth paying for.
Best building layout
As you can see in the image at the top of this section, we chose a simple layout with all our assets in the middle of the area, surrounded by buildings around the edge.
It's because of the characters will reflect multiple times, so you want to contain them in a large circle without getting caught in small, specific areas, such as between buildings.
How to beat every level in ball x pit
The level of difficulty increases steadily the further you descend into the pit. Along the way, you may encounter peaks of difficulty.
The best way to combat this is to consider what kind of characters you use and how you can upgrade them specific types of buildings (buildings that increase intelligence will increase baby ball damage for example and which evolutions you used seem the strongest).
Often you want a mix of AoE (area of effect) damage. single target damage for defeating bosses.
They exist three bosses per level v Ball x Pit: two boss stages and a final boss. you are guaranteed Fusion upgrade after defeating the first two stage bosses.
Try to time your upgrades two level three balls so he could fuse or develop these orbs after the stage boss is over.
Balls are important, but don't forget passives. You're really looking for passives and balls that complement each other. Crit damage is a very powerful passive.
