Even though the Yonko are powerful, they can be taken down and it's highly likely to end One piecethey will meet their end one way or another, which will surely have massive consequences for the entire world. With One Piece in the final saga, almost everything is set to be much more exciting and fans need to watch out for Emperors of the Sea.
How the Yonko system came to be
-
Yonko were founded at an unknown time
-
The current imperial order may be the last
The four sea emperors exist from the very beginning of the story in One piece. According to Oda himself, he originally intended One Piece to be a fight against the four emperors, but the involvement of the Shichibukai makes the series as long as it is.
The reason 'One Piece' has been running continuously for the past 20 years is because of the Seven Sea Warriors (Schibukai). 'One Piece' was originally intended to be a story about the fight against the four emperors (Yonko) that ended after only five years. I thought it would be awesome to have these great Seven Sea Warriors in a comic; it was really just a passing thought. And then it turned into such a long series, like a horror movie!! Why couldn't it be Five or Two Sea Warriors? I thought “Seven Warlords” sounded much cooler!! Well, I don't regret it because I already drew what I wanted to draw. Just a little more!! – Ode
As Oda's own words make clear, One piece was always meant to include the Four Sea Emperors. Although they have ruled the seas for a long time, fans only learned of their existence in the Enies Lobby Arc story, when Luffy first met his grandfather Garp. It is also clear to fans that the Order of the Four Emperors consisted of Whitebeard, Shanks, Big Mom and Kaido. All four of these were described by Garp as shining stars in the pirate world, each possessing a power beyond the comprehension of the average pirate.
While it is interesting to note that Yonko have always existed, one must also look at the reason for their existence. Yonks are powerful pirates who are considered incredibly close One piece. Whitebeard himself was known to be the closest thing to a human One piece until recently. The key, though, is that none of the Yonks are truly above the others, because none really are One piece.
The future destruction of the Yonko system
Yonko can't stand when the Pirate King appears
Simply put, Yonko exists because there is no Pirate King. The name Yonko literally means that these pirates are the emperors of the sea, but what happens when the king of the sea appears? Luffy clearly tells Hody on Fishman Island that there can only be one king of the sea. As such, the concept of the Four Emperors exists because there is no Pirate King. Luffy again continues to support this idea in the Punk Hazard arc One piecewhere he clearly states that he will take down all the Yonka one by one.
There can only be one Pirate King! – Luffy
If the Yonks are defeated one by one, sure enough, whoever defeats them is the strongest and also has the most road poneglyphs. With that, the person would continue the claim One piece.

More importantly, logic says that once there is a pirate king, there can be no emperors. Emperors control different parts of the seas. But the king rules it all and has the greatest freedom. Therefore, the destruction of the Order of the Four Emperors in one piece is inevitable. This makes even more sense when fans consider the current power balance. For example, individuals like Blackbeard are bound to fall at some point in the future. Meanwhile, Shanks has his own death flags that he may or may not survive. The Cross guild loses a significant portion of its power when Zoro defeats Mihawk and Crocodile is defeated by someone else. And finally, at the end of it all, only the Straw Hat crew will be left. It is clear that the other emperors must fall, which will simply wipe out the entire Yonko system.
What happens to the second Yonk in one piece?
The other Yonko could still survive
While the Yonko system itself may be erased, the Yonko itself may still exist. Buggy, for example, probably won't die. Shanks and Blackbeard may die, but there are other powerful pirates in it One piece a world that will take their place like Law and Kid and potentially even Bonney in the future.
But the big difference is that these pirates will no longer be called Yonko. There will just be a King of the Sea one day and all these pirates will then turn their attention to Luffy. Whoever defeats Luffy will go on to claim the Pirate King and create their own legacy in the world. These pirates will simply be known as the Great Pirates, as they were when Roger was the Pirate King. The Yonka idea did not exist and was most certainly a result of Roger's death.
Yonko could potentially make a comeback One piece in the future and all that depends on Luffy's decision after his crowning as the Pirate King. If Luffy simply retires as a pirate after fulfilling his true dream, then Yonko or similar powers will reappear in the king's absence. If Luffy continues as a pirate after that, then the pirates will turn to him and fight to become the Pirate King officially.
