The Pokemon World Championship has become much more than a tournament. Over the past few years, Pokemon has added a number of fans 'activities to the event and is slowly growing worlds to the hybrid fans' tournament.
This year's event felt as if the culmination of everything TPC worked on. The Pokemon Worlds 2025 transformed the Anaheim Congress Center into a full -fledged chat with sellers, panels, exhibitions, activities and performances, as well as the highest production competition we've ever seen for Pokemon.
It seemed to me to see the Pokemon Worlds in its final form, so it came as a shock when TPC announced during the closure of the ceremony that next year the worlds will be even bigger and better with its reserved fans called Pokemon XP running side by side with the tournament. The Pokemon Worlds 2025 was effectively a test during the future of Pokemon fans, but it is difficult to even understand how much more it could get.
Pokemon Worlds 2025 was much more than a tournament
Over the years, we have been expecting things from the Pokemon World Championship series. The three -day event contains the highest level in four Pokemon – Unite, Go, TCG and VGC – and a lot of opportunities for players to get into the side events for each game.
This year, TPC raised betting on Sundays on Sundays for all four games in the arena of 7,500 people, which meant for the first time Worlds, organizing a competition at the stadium. The quality of production was incredible. The lights, fog and pyrotechnics interrupted every great moment, while the projected paintings on the giant center are revived. This year, TPC gave a competitive Pokemon gravity that has earned properly in the last 20 years of ESport events.
However, the competition was only half – or perhaps even less than half – the whole event. While the main stage and competition areas occupied the entire B hall, the rest of the congress center was used to celebrate other aspects of Pokemon Fandom.
Perhaps the most remarkable was the Pokemon Center, which occupied all Hall D, the largest hall in the congress center. The Pokemon Center pop up has become a huge draw for the worlds, so this year the TPC opened the entrance to the local not to the non -party. This was by far the largest and most impressive experience of Pokémon shopping, when I appeared on the wall and exclusive wall goods. Part of esports, part of the fans
Next to the hall C is a place where traditional congress activities have been established. There was a big scene for various panels at the back all weekend, and there were a number of autograph stalls for the creators of content, artist and staff of Pokémon. This hall also represented two exhibits, one showing art from the Black Bolt & White Flare Pokemon TCG and the other, which served as the Pokemon Worlds history museum. Consoles, games and trade from each world of Pokemon, which were moving until 2004, were exhibited.
My favorite features of this year's world were both in this hall. The Collect & Trade mat was a cash -free bazaar where anyone could freely prepare table and business cards, games and other Pokemon goods. With so many fans who travel from all over the world, it was amazing to see so many different kinds of collections. I met more people and made more memories than anywhere else in Congress.
My favorite part of the weekend was the PIN Rally, which was a hunt to capture exclusive pins and space for trading with pins. It is quite suitable for Anaheim, where Disney Pin Trading is such a big problem, but for Pokémon it is also a long time.
I collected Pokemon Pins from TCG Product and other world events, so getting a chance to show off your collection and shop with other collectors was unexpected and exciting. According to all accounts, the rally PIN was a huge success, so I look forward to seeing how this particular activity is going on in the future.
On the other side of the competition hall, in the hall and, there is a place where sellers were established. Again, it is a common feature of fans' conventions, but not something we have seen in the Pokemon Worlds earlier. Here you would find companies like build-a-bear, bandai, dog and cool stuff inc. Seller all kinds of pokemon merch. This is also a place where participants could go with the first legends of the Pokemon: for a demo, or noticed and sit in browsers to watch an episode or two from Pokemon Horizons.
Pokemon Worlds 2025 was a trial run for next year Pokemon XP
This is not an exhausting list of things you should do at this year's Pokemon Worlds, including the laboratory of Pokemon Play, demonstrations of the Bear Walker skateboard, Pokemon Go, art class, Pokemon GO hunters, meeting characters and greetings and much more. There is no way to do everything during a three -day event, which is so impressive that TPC will be even greater for next year.
During the final ceremonies, two major announcements were made about the world next year. First, Sunday's San Francisco's Chase Center, the Home of the Golden State Warriors and Arena with double the Anaheim Convention Center, which was most of the championship Sunday this year. I can't wait to see if the Pokemon fans can fill in the Chase Center next year.
Secondly, it was announced that the congress half of the worlds would be its own event next year, which will be held simultaneously with the worlds. It is called Pokemon XP, it will be the first celebration of Pokemon fans, which was based on the success of this year's world. Tickets for the first Pokemon XP will be sold next month, 17th September, and they are expected to sell out quickly.
Since 2022 I have been visiting the worlds and it was amazing to see how quickly it went to this point. In London there were only a small carnival area outside the congress center, where children could play games and take pictures with Pikachu. The following year in Yokohama TPC, he amazed fans with a show of Pikachu, Drone Shows, nationwide pokemon walking and real SS Anne. The worlds of 2024 in Hawaii brought again the experience of Poke Park and introduced more uncompetitive activities, while providing the largest Pokemon Center popping window so far.
It all was built to what we saw this year in Anaheim. 20. The Pokemon World Championship created space for Pokemon, card collectors, plush users, artistic awards, pins hunters, anime observers and each other kind of Pokemon fans. No matter how you enjoy the Pokemon, this year's worlds had a place for you. If we can expect this from the events of Pokemon XP in the future, we have to look forward to.
