Before release Star Wars Episode 1: Battles for the Jedi PowerAspyr has revealed that Jar Jar Binks will be a playable character in the game. Battles for Jedi Power already featured a diverse list of playable characters. However, the clumsy Gungan is probably one of the most surprising additions for fans in the new version.
Released in 2000, Battles for Jedi Power featured iconic characters and places from the era Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace. Looking to tap into the nostalgia of the original, Aspyr has announced plans to release a new version Battles for Jedi Powerwhich brings more content for fans to discover. In addition to features like the ability to switch lightsaber colors and the addition of cheat support, players can take control of some new characters, with the most recently announced being Jar Jar Binks.

Aspyr announced the news by releasing a new trailer Battles for Jedi Powerrevealing gameplay for Jar Jar Binks. The video showcased the iconic Gungan in action, taking on various enemies. While some fans may have been unrealistically hoping that the character would wield a red lightsaber and take on the infamous Darth Jar Jar persona from fan theories, it appears that he is attacking with a large staff in the game. Plus, it features a variety of chaotic voice lines that one would expect from a clumsy character. Jar Jar Binks will be playable at launch Battles for Jedi Power January 23, but fans can already pre-order the game.

It's worth noting that Aspyr is adding many more playable characters to the game with its upcoming release on modern platforms. In addition to Jar Jar Binks, the developer revealed nine other new playable characters Battles for Jedi Powerwith several more expected to be announced. These additions include some variety, such as the recognizable Staff Tusken Raider and Rodian. Some droid types also become playable, with the Flame Droid, Destroyer Droid and Rifle Droid being added to the list. In fact, Jar Jar Binks isn't the first of his kind to be announced for the game, as the Gungan Guard is also slated to be playable.
With release Star Wars Episode 1: Battles for the Jedi Power in just a few weeks, fans will soon be able to try out these new characters, including Jar Jar Binks.
