This post contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Gege Akutami Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular manga series in the world. It has already sold more than 100 million copies, making it part of an exclusive list. Jujutsu Kaisen's fame continues to rise, thanks in no small part to its phenomenal anime adaptation.
MAPPA took the already amazing source material and kicked things up a notch. Fans were excited about the anime and therefore waited impatiently for years for the next installment. On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen the manga ended but returns briefly.
Jujutsu Kaisen returns to Jump Giga
JJK will be on the cover of Jump Giga

The popularity of JJK is still on the rise

The manga has sold over 100 million copies
In a recent report, Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen was confirmed to be on the cover of Jump GIGA 2026 Winter with a brand new illustration. While it may not be much, it is a positive. It shows that Jujutsu Kaisen is still a big name and it's enough to get the attention of fans. It's worth noting that the artwork is by no means proof of the return of Jujutsu Kaisen, but at the same time, it shouldn't be completely ignored.
Despite his problematic health, Gege Akutami is already working for Shueisha again. He is currently writing the story for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, a sequel to the original. The manga features children Yuta and Maki who try to make their own way. The story is exciting and contains a lot of new characters. However, the manga hasn't really taken off, but that's okay because many people still don't know about its existence. Over time, JJK: Modulo will become mainstream and more people will start reading. Another reason for Modulo's limited popularity is that many people have not read the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 release date has been confirmed
JJK season 3 will release in January 2026
While the JJK manga has ended, the anime is still ongoing and will probably take another four or five years to finish. It was recently confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will air in January 2026. The news of Jujutsu Kaisen's return was music to fans' ears as they had been waiting over two years for the anime to return. However, before the anime returns, a compilation movie will be released. The movie will cover the entire Shibuya Incident arc and two episodes from the Culling Game arc. It will be released first in Japan and later in the United States. The film will be only two hours long.
JJK Season 3 will be divided into two parts and the first part will be aired sometime in January 2026. There is currently no news on when the second part will be released. But fans can expect an update from MAPPA when the first episode ends. The number of episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is also unclear, but it will probably be more than 20 episodes, with each part having an equal number.
Some fans may be upset that the anime is split into two parts, but they should remember that it's for the greater good. The studio staff has to work hard to maintain a high level of animation. If they don't get enough rest in between, it can have a negative impact on their health. Besides, MAPPA is famous for overworking its employees, so it's always nice to see them get enough rest.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3's January release date means it will be competing with several other titles for the attention of anime fans. Oshi no Ko Season 3, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2, Hell's Paradise Season 2, and Fire Force Season 4 Part 2 have already been confirmed to release in January 2026. All these titles are famous and have huge fan bases. Needless to say, everyone will be competing against each other.
