In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (thanks to Gamesradar+), Druckmann revealed that the second season would contain a “quite brutal” scene that was removed from the game. Although he did not give any more details, he said, “I am very excited to see it.”
Given how brutal was the last of us, part 2 was, there is no way we could guess what this scene would be about. It can even be a scene without Joel, Ellie or Abby completely. But if the previous season has a lot to go through, I can't wait to see what they come up with.
In the same interview, Druckmann also talked about why actor Abby Kaitlyn Dever did not take a role. Abby, how the fans of the game will know, is a pretty physically intimidating person and her character is really important to her character. Neil Druckmann, however, handed over this aspect for the TV show.
“This does not play such a big role in this version of the story,” he said, comparing the physicality of Ellie and Abby in games with a TV show. “Because there are not so many violent action moments.
