Anyone who played a lot ARC Raiders he'll know about the insane amount of useful items and grenades that can be crafted or found during a raid, some of which are more useful than others. There are big flashy explosives like the Wolfpack and movement-related items like the zipline that can lead to some creative shortcuts into or out of the action, but even the more specialized tools can be just as useful in specific situations.
Players may find themselves with a stash full of randoms items for quick use that they have collected over the course of several runs, yet they may be surprised to find out how effective some of them really are. Many of them undervalued items can be found in abundance, bought cheaply, and made with little to no hassle, while providing just as much if not more power to a player's gear, despite flying mostly under the radar.
Door blocking
- Costs: 810
- Recipe: 3x metal parts, 3x rubber parts (Utility Station 1)
Door blockers they are an item that many players overlook as inventory filler that serves no purpose other than being sold or scrapped. However, in practice they can be an incredibly powerful tool when used in the right circumstances, with the potential to turn the tide of an encounter in seconds. Blockade only takes a second to deploy, meaning players can easily run away from combat and block the path behind them without having to wait.
This item works best in high loot areas where there is a lot of PvP action, as being able to buy the team some precious time can be the difference between a successful and unsuccessful firefight. Without unlocking any breakthrough skills, it takes 10 seconds to completely remove a deployed door blocker, and even with a few points in the tree, this will still give players plenty of time to either pick off teammates, heal, or make a quick escape.
A noisemaker
An early warning of what is to come
- Costs: 1920
- Recipe: 1x speaker part, 2x plastic parts (inventory)
The Noise Makers they're an interesting quick-use item that's part of an area control playstyle rather than an aggressive one. Players can set them as sound traps that serve as warnings and deterrents for other raiders. Many players overlook them due to the lack of immediate payoff, but they can be one of the most powerful items in the game when used in the right circumstances.
For example, when looting the Control Tower on Dam Battlegrounds, it's almost guaranteed that another team will want to cash in on the high loot. By setting up a series of Noisemakers in the corridors, players can get a better idea of where incoming raiders are. This is especially useful against sneaky players. Information is one of Topside's most valuable resources, so having a mechanism to detect players early can help players get in a better position for an upcoming fight, while also letting them know if hungry raiders have decided to leave or continue.
Light impact grenade
- Costs: 810
- Recipe: 1x Plastic Parts, 3x Chemicals (Explosive Station 1/Workbench/Inventory)
There are many assault grenades that players can use against raiders and arcs alike, with many favoring the explosive power of heavy fuse grenades, jammers, or even fallen robot controllers. At the lowest end of the spectrum lies light impact grenades, which are not only incredibly cheap to make and buy, but are also surprisingly powerful and give players a decent weapon to keep and use when the going gets tough.
Individual genades only do 30 damage each, but players can have up to five in a single light stack, giving them a decent AoE attack that can be devastating when used against groups or in closed areas. Also, Light Impact Grenades can be thrown incredibly quickly and without much downtime, meaning players can throw a few from afar and then zoom in to quickly finish off weakened enemies, making them a low-cost option for players who prefer a more aggressive PvP playstyle.
Barricade set
More An envelope is never a bad thing
- Costs: 1920
- Recipe: 1x mechanical parts (Utility Station 1)
Sets of barricades are easily one of the most overlooked pieces of utility in ARC Raidersyet there are so many situations where players can literally be saved from death by this extra bit. The kit itself can be placed virtually anywhere in the world as long as the surface is flat enough and can pop up a handy metal wall in seconds, giving players time to catch their breath and heal before jumping back into the action.
Many players assume that the barrier will go down with a few well-placed bullets, but with 500 HP, it can withstand a lot of punishment, even from a whole group of raiders. Even more powerfully, players can pick it up and move it to a completely different location should they need to, allowing them to use cover multiple times during a raid, whether they're running around outside or fighting in a tight corridor.
Smoke grenade
Sneaking Away Unseeded
- Costs: 3000
- Recipe: 7x Chemicals, 1x Canister (Utility Station/Workbench)
New players often look at smoke grenades and write them off as an average piece of equipment with marginal use but not much else. However, when it comes to using them in action, it turns out that they are actually some of the best grenades in the game and can be used in practically every single run. Their obvious use is for obscuring the view, but the specific uses go much further, allowing players to safely revive team members, lock down entire sections, and, perhaps most importantly, safely take out and dodge any stray bullets from raiders camped near the exit.
Mass acquisition of smoke grenades can be expensive, but players will find plenty during their Topside adventures. Once their power is seen firsthand, it's hard to enter a raid without at least a few smoke grenades on hand, as the ability to completely change the course of a fight by removing lines of sight can be enough to send a player to the exit.
