The My Mario's Little People collection is getting a matching Mushroom Kingdom playset

Fisher-Price quietly revealed that it was adding Mario and other core characters from Nintendo's flagship series to its Little People line last week. Now it's launched a second reveal, almost as quietly as the Mushroom Kingdom just popped up on Amazon for those Little People to play in.

Similar to Mario's Lego sets, the Little People plumbing playset is interactive. Have the included Mario figure jump on the Goombas, jump over the Piranha Plant, and collect the Fire Flower to make dealing with the above enemies a little easier.

The set also includes a warp tube that Mario can launch into, a swinging Chain Chomp, and there are buttons that budding Nintendo fans can press that will make the set play the iconic music and sound effects from the Mario games. There are some downsides to the set, though, which would otherwise be a perfect entry point for the youngest Mario fans, a new part of the market Nintendo is clearly trying to corner.

Now that Mario Tennis Fever's roster is out, fans are debating whether it's better than Mario Kart World

Baby Waluigi does the heavy lifting.

The first potential stumbling block is price. While it might cost less elsewhere, Fisher-Price's My Mario set is listed for $53.99 on Amazon. Despite the many interactive elements and the tie-in to one of the most famous IPs on the planet, that's a pretty high asking price for a toy that's primarily aimed at toddlers.

On the box it says for children from one and a half years.

The Mushroom Kingdom set does not include all six little people

At the very least, for the price, you'd hope that all six characters available through the My Mario Little People collection would be included in the set, but that's not the case. Although the product description refers to “characters” being able to use his warp pipe, the only one who has made the transition from the base set of characters to the playset is Mario himself.

The My Mario Mushroom Kingdom roster follows the reveal of the My Mario Little People character set. This set includes Little People versions of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Toad and Yoshi. If you want the other five characters to run and jump around the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario, you'll apparently have to buy them separately.

The Little People reveal was interestingly separated from Nintendo's wider My Mario reveal. Released in Japan last year and set to launch globally in 2026, the My Mario toys include a set of wooden blocks that double as amiibo, a Mario plush, and Mario story books that were designed with very young children in mind.
