The new Astro Bot release is absolutely adorable

An adorable case for the DualSense wireless controller and a plush based on Astro Bot they have been revealed and they are adorable. While Astro Bot has been out for over a year, this new accessory pack could be tempting for fans of one of the best PS5 exclusives.

It may be hard to believe, but the PlayStation 5 is already over five years old. Since the console's launch, Sony has released various first-party exclusives. Perhaps the most notable of them was Astro Bot. Winner of Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024, Team Asobi's 3D platformer has earned rave reviews from players and critics alike. Astro Bot themed case and Red Panda plush available for pre-order

Due to popularity Astro BotUnsurprisingly, Sony has already released the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller. However, players now have the option to get more themed add-ons based on the game. Specifically, the Astro Bot DualSense Wireless Controller Case and Red Panda Plushie were revealed. This bundle costs $56.99 and is available exclusively through PlayStation Direct. While this case and plush will be released on Thursday, March 26th, those interested can now pre-order.

The case, which is produced by PowerA, features an adorable Astro Bot– themed design and allows users to charge their controller inside. There is also an accessory pocket to store the charging cable thanks to the cable grommet. This protective case comes with the aforementioned Red Panda plushie made by Youtooz. As the name suggests, it's based on the cute animal boots seen in the game, albeit in a much edgier form. According to the website, this 9-inch Red Panda plush is “wrapped to the seams in 100% PP cotton and made of the softest minky material.” It features a predominantly orange and brown body with a white mouth and what are described as “delighted blue eyes”.

It's not clear how long that will be Astro Bot release will be available, so interested fans may want to pre-order sooner rather than later. However, it should be noted that the case is only compatible with DualSense wireless controllers. Unfortunately, that means those with the more expensive DualSense Edge won't be able to use it Astro Bot– themed case.

Astro Bot's free DLC levels make the game even better

It's nice to see Astro Bot continues to gain recognition more than a year after its original release. In addition to accessories like this new bundle and the previously released Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller, the Asobi team has released additional in-game content for the game. Notably, the game received several free DLC levels that used v abilities Astro Botand other VIP bots from franchises like Final Fantasy and Helldivers 2 have been added to the game. A Christmas level was even introduced at the end of 2024.

It remains to be seen what the future will bring Astro Bot. Fortunately, the game was considered a success, selling millions of copies, meaning there could be a new game in the series in the future. Of course, there's also the possibility that more DLC could be coming by 2024 Astro Bot. For now, fans will have to settle for trying to set new speedrun level records in the meantime.
