Especially, Diablo 4 Season 12 breaks the trend that started after the release of Vessel of Hatred with new Uniques that come with the season opener.

Diablo 4 Season 12 is in the awkward position of being sandwiched between the release of the Paladin class in the year Diablo 4 Season 11 and the Lord of Hatred expansion are coming in Season 13. Expectations for Season 12 should therefore be tempered a bit, with massive changes to Lord of Hatred on the horizon. There's still plenty to be excited about Diablo 4 Season 12, especially with the new batch of Uniques surpassing any single class for the first time since season 6 in October 2024.

Adding new uniques is a major part of each one Diablo 4 season since launch, though some seasons have added more than others. While the first few seasons Diablo 4 boosted the lineup of Uniques that players can get, the last few seasons it's been down and most have only added 1 new Unique specific to each of them. Diablo 4classes.

Diablo 4 Season 11 added 22 new Uniques for the Paladin as it was a brand new class that needed to keep up with the number of Uniques available for the other 6 classes.

All new uniques are coming in Diablo 4 Season 12

Three out of five new ones Diablo 4 Season 12 Uniques are usable for everyone Diablo 4 classes, while two are used by multiple classes. Rather than giving each class one new Unique, adding more generic Uniques should help with meta build diversity in the coming season, as classes will have several new Uniques to try out. Necromancer and Druid builds in particular will be spoiled for choice, as those classes are the only ones that can take advantage of every new unique in Diablo 4 Season 12. And since Paladin will be hit with a few nerfs next season, it could be these two classes that appear at the top of the Season 12 meta.

New Uniques v Diablo 4 Season 12 seems to be setting the stage for Lord of Hatred content before the new expansion is released. Among these new Uniques, several stand out as meta-defining pieces of gear that could become mainstays of builds long after Lord of Hatred launches. In particular, Wyrdskin Unique Gloves have a fantastic buff that can be almost universally valuable, as all classes can benefit from debuffing enemies with Vulnerable and Weakened.

Another wave of new Uniques is also likely to appear Diablo 4 class comes with the Lord of Hatred expansion, which will be able to use these new generic uniques as well. In preparation for this release, it's possible that Blizzard wanted to flood the game with more generic and multi-class uniques to give this new class access to a variety of gear without having to overload Season 13 with too many class-specific uniques.
