A new report from a trusted industry insider claims that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has officially informed both PlayStation and Xbox that the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for a November 19, 2026 release date. Rockstar's history of multiple delays has many fans concerned Grand Theft Auto 6The actual release date could be pushed back again, but it seems like all the studios involved are very confident that it won't be.
Grand Theft Auto fans didn't get their first official look at the next installment until 2023, and it's been a long and bumpy road since then. Not only did Rockstar make fans wait over a year between two trailers for the game, but they were also late Grand Theft Auto 6 multiple times. When first revealed, Rockstar was aiming for a fall 2025 release GTA 6but fans of the studio knew it was unrealistic. Then there was the inevitable delay that pushed the title back to May 26, 2026. Then, just six months before its release, Grand Theft Auto 6 was hit with yet another delay, this time pushing the launch date to November 19.
Even GTA 5, Red Dead 2 developers are struggling in the gaming industry right now
The job market in the video game industry is a constant struggle as even a former Rockstar Games employee struggles to land a new job.
Another GTA 6 delay seems unlikely
During a recent quarterly earnings call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick gave fans the update they've been wanting to hear for so long: Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for a November release date. This happened just a few weeks ago and as Zelnick has repeatedly told fans he is “confident”. GTA 6's release date, only to have it later pushed back, many are still skeptical. However, insider Millie A who has a proven track record when it comes to GTA 6 leaks, recently took to Twitter to reveal that Take-Two has now formally informed both Sony and Microsoft Grand Theft Auto 6 is on track for release during the current fiscal year. “At this stage there are no planned delays and the launch window is considered firm,” Millie A said in a new post.

The real question now is when fans will get more Grand Theft Auto 6? Rockstar has only released two trailers so far, the second of which was accompanied by a ton of new screenshots. But it looks like things will pick up in the coming months, as Zelnick confirmed during Take-Two's recent earnings call that marketing for the title will begin in the summer. This likely means that fans can expect to see more from the title regularly during the build-up to launch, rather than one trailer every year. Take-Two's revealing marketing plans also show that the studio is very confident in the November release date.
Many also want to pre-order the title and know exactly how much Grand Theft Auto 6 will stand As one of the most anticipated video games of all time, with reports suggesting that development costs have skyrocketed past $1 billion, there are serious concerns that Rockstar's next title will go far beyond its usual $70 price tag. Some analysts even predicted that Rockstar could charge up to $100 just for the standard edition. However, at the time of writing, neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have indicated that there will be such a price increase for the Grand Theft Auto 6.
The fans also got more confidence Grand Theft Auto 6Release date this week when Insomniac and PlayStation announced it Marvel's Wolverine will launch in September. Although it may seem unrelated, journalist Jason Schreier has previously claimed that PlayStation is healing Grand Theft Auto 6 as a PS5 exclusive. Of course, the title is also coming out on the Xbox Series X/S, but PlayStation is clearly trying to avoid Rockstar's release blast zone by not listing any of its first-party titles in the same window. So there is nothing to be surprised about Marvel's Wolverine decided to launch two months in advance.
