Revelation Blues is an ambitious project that seeks to recreate the original Interplay Fallout 3 game concept, The Van Buren Project. Conceived as a total overhaul Fallout: New Vegasit was first announced at the end of May 2021. Since then, the project has received somewhat regular status updates via its Discord server.

Fallout: Revelation Blues renamed to Fallout: The New West
On February 4th, the dev team behind the ambitious reworked mod released a new trailer that offers a brief look at the project's environment while also introducing a name change: Fallout: Revelation Blues is now called Fallout: The New West. Elaborating on this decision, one of the developers took to the project's Discord server to reveal that the team felt the old name wasn't “catchable” enough. At the same time, the new nicknames try to better capture what the upcoming mod is about and reflect the fact that New West will focus on exploring the American Southwest in Fallout tradition.
Fallout: The New West is getting a second demo soon
Along with a new trailer – edited in the style of the classics Fallout games — the United West Team announced a new demo of their massive scale New Vegas The mod is not only in development but also close to completion. The demo aims to recreate the opening sequence The Van Buren Projectin which players must escape from Tibbets Prison in Arizona, controlled by an unhinged, split-personality AI named Odysseus. According to a recent FAQ posted on the project's Discord server, the developers considered announcing a release date for the demo in early February 2026, but decided not to commit until the build was essentially complete. After the release, the team plans to focus on completing the first act Fallout: The New Westwhich will be released as a standalone playable vertical part of the full game.
While a significant part The Van Buren Project leaked online over the years, original Fallout 3 the game was never completed. Like a team at the back New West takes some creative liberties to turn the concept into a cohesive, fully playable experience. Looking at the bigger picture, Fallout: The New West still not close to completion. Responding to a fan's query on Discord, developer FloofMother stated that the current internal estimate is at least “four years to full completion”. The team plans to continue providing development updates to the community and is preparing at least one more playable demo, currently expected in the second half of 2028. This demo is to be separate from the Tibbets Prisons segment, which is expected to launch later in 2026.
