Standard set Baldur's Gate 3 player choice and gameplay variations are incredibly high. With all the potential choices players can make during the run Baldur's Gate 3there are reportedly around 17,000 possible final scenarios to account for the breadth of these possibilities. It will be a pretty tough task for any future game to even come close to this record, despite Larian's claim that the studio's upcoming game, Divinitywill be even greater than Baldur's Gate 3. However, one game that was quietly released in 2025 is closer than any other title to achieving that number of endings, but it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
actually Baldur's Gate 3The 17,000 endings claim is a bit of a stretch as the game actually has 3 “main” endings with a few variations depending on how players achieve those endings. To add to the variation, each Baldur's Gate 3 a companion can have one of several different endings, which certainly gives the game a wide variety of outcomes, but the 17,000 endings claim mostly stems from subtle differences in the choices players can make along the way rather than completely unique ending scenarios. This puts The Hundred Line – Last Defense Academy into the conversation of games with various endings, right next door BG3as it has 100 different endings that players can earn.

This involves exploring materials around, upgrading each character's stats and abilities, and bonding with them to improve friendships.
The other side of this equation is combat, which plays out like a turn-based tactical RPG. Players must fend off waves of invaders before they can destroy the shields protecting the school. Each character has their own utility in combat, from drawing an aggro Invader to taking out weaker enemies with AoE attacks. Because there is no permadeath like Fire sign In the series, players are encouraged to sacrifice their units during battle and perform extra powerful attacks at the cost of that character's life, allowing them to respawn after the battle is over.
