The designs for each chair in the Secretlab Pokémon Collection are absolutely packed with little eagle-eyed Easter eggs. Pokemon catches immediately. In terms of design, the Gengar chair looks fantastic. The bold black and purple coloring really brings the Ghost/Poison-Type line to life, featuring a bright purple at the base of the seat that bubbles just like the Toxic movement before disappearing into a black chair base with purple-highlighted illustrations.

The illustrations are top notch, textured to give them depth without being too distracting to make sitting in the TITAN Evo uncomfortable. On the sides of the chair, you'll find symbols representing the Ghost and Poison type of the Gengar family's evolutionary lineage, as well as images of Gastly, Haunter and Gengar chasing each other up to the top of the headrest. The front features a fantastic illustration of Gengar with his Pokédex number underneath, with a larger illustration on the back of Gengar sticking out his tongue mischievously in a perfect combination of Ken Sugimori's original design and Pokemon modern art style.

Secretlab makes building a chair easy and effortless

For anyone who is afraid to assemble the TITAN Evo on their own, rest assured that the process is extremely easy. Might be handy for someone who writes for a living, I'm not what you'd call a handy man, but I was able to effortlessly assemble my Gengar TITAN Evo in half an hour without any frustrations or roadblocks.

The TITAN Evo comes with a set of assembly tools, meaning you won't have to find your own tools, and a very handy (and very large) manual that breaks down the assembly process step-by-step in detail. Having a friend to help you and lift some of the heavier parts to screw in certainly helps, but it's by no means difficult or impossible to go through the build process yourself.

Quality meets convenience in the Secretlab Pokémon collection

After years of living with a backless office chair that I was constantly diving into and sliding on due to poorly made wheels, the Secretlab Pokémon Collection is honestly a revelation and the biggest improvement my office has seen in over a decade. The Secretlab L-ADAPT™ four-way lumbar support system and memory foam head pillow have done wonders for my back, neck and posture. As someone who needs to sit for hours at a time for work, it's nice to sit in a chair that makes my body feel supported, not destroyed, at the end of the day.

At the end of a long day at work, it's also nice to sit on Gengar and play some video games or watch anime. I've gotten to the point where I'd rather lounge on my TITAN Evo most nights than move to the couch, which I never would have done before the Secretlab Pokemon collection. Best of all, the chair looks great. The black and purple work perfectly with the color palette of my set-up, and the perfect detailing and textures of the Secretlab just screams “prestige” – I feel like I need a higher quality table to match Gengar (preferably in black and purple).

If you want to improve your gaming chair and love Pokemonyou can't go wrong with the Secretlab Pokémon Collection. All three chairs are of exceptional quality and made with a deep love not only for Generation I and the Kanto region that started it all, but Pokemon series as a whole.
