The Skovos Lord of Hatred map might look like

Diablo 4: Lord of HatredA map of the new Skovos region may have been leaked online with a new image showing a never-before-seen view of the region. While Diablo 4 has confirmed that the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion will take players to Skovos, a region yet to appear in the series itself, details on the layout of the map itself have not been officially shared. There is no official confirmation of the authenticity of this map, but it matches well with what has already been shared about the expansion.

IN Diablo lore, Skovos is a key location in the larger world of Sanctuary, said to be where Lilith and Inarius created the nephalim that later became humanity. As such, Skovos is steeped in ancient tradition and is home to the Askari civilization, from which the iconic Diablo 2 Amazon class is coming. Although Skovos is mentioned throughout the text Diablo the series has never appeared as a playable location, leaving fans to speculate as to what the region will actually look like in the game.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Skovos map seemingly leaked online

An article on the German site GameStar was posted on Reddit by user SheWhoHates and includes an image of what appears to be the Skovos game map from Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. The post deals with publicly available details of the upcoming expansion, but the inclusion of this image appears to be new. A reverse image search returns no further results, pointing to the GameStar article as the only source, leaving the map in question authentic.

However, as user SheWhoHates points out, there is a key connection between this leaked map and the one shown on the official Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred page for the new War Plans mechanic. A comparison of the two map layouts shows that they are nearly identical, confirming the authenticity of the newly leaked one. Without any other source to verify its authenticity, the map featured in the GameStar article should still be considered unverified until Blizzard officially confirms it.

The leaked image shows the division of Skovos into 7 sub-regions, including:

  • Philios

  • Themis

  • Lycander

  • Athulua

  • Athanasius

  • Celestia

  • Skartara

Previous renderings of the Sanctuary map show that Skovos has the islands of Philios, Lycander, and Skartara contained within an island chain. However, this new map includes the locations of Temis, Athulua, Atanos, and Celestia, further supporting the idea that this is a new incarnation of the region designed specifically for Lord of Hatred.

There is still a possibility that this is a fan map, as it is significantly different from past Skovos renders. According to the Sanctuary map shown in The Book of Lorath from the Horadric Vault series, Skovos is much less connected, with Philios, Lycander, and Skartara being completely separate islands. However, in this newly leaked image, Skovos appears as one large, interconnected island with these new sub-regions connecting the previously known islands, suggesting a major shift in canon if this image is indeed real.

While Blizzard has shared a great deal of information about the upcoming Lord of Hatred DLC, the exact details of features like the Skovos map and a mysterious second new playable class have remained under wraps. Since the reveal of the expansion at The Game Awards 2025 and the subsequent shadow of the Paladin pro class Diablo 4 In Season 11, not many other details have been shared officially or through leaks. As Lord of Hatred's April 28th launch date approaches, Diablo 4 fans can probably expect to hear more about what the expansion will bring in the near future.
