The truth enforcers leave a great deal of debate about chemical agents

As the end of 2024 approaches, Helldivers 2 presented eight new premium Warbonds since the game was first released in February this year. Among these new Warbonds, Chemical Agents was the only premium Warbond to date that featured Stratagems, effectively locking them behind a paywall. While Helldivers 2The sequel to Chemical Agents did not include any strategies, the Chemical Agents Warbond still leaves the door open for future Warbonds to include Stratagems.

While the strategies involved in Chemical Agents Warbond are considered niche compared to the current meta for Stratagems, the decision to lock Stratagems behind a paywall almost turned into another controversy. Helldivers 2with concerns that it could make the game pay-to-win. Despite the initial resistance that arose Helldivers 2 adding Stratagems to premium Warbonds, there are probably more benefits to making this a recurring trend than risks.

Helldivers 2's Chemical Agents Warbond opens the door to more stratagems appearing in future Warbonds

Chemical Agents was the first premium Warbond v Helldivers 2 yet to include Stratagems that initially raised concerns that Helldivers 2 could move to a pay-to-win model. However, these two Stratagems, TX-41 Sterilizer and AX/TX-13 “Guard Dog” Dog Breath, are probably not a cause for concern as they are considered niche compared to the current meta for Stratagems in Helldivers 2. Ultimately, there are strong arguments either way as to whether Warbond-exclusive Stragems could be beneficial to the game in the long run, but so far the benefits of this approach seem to outweigh the potential risks.

On the one hand, Stratagems are some of the best weapons Helldivers 2so adding them to future war bonds increases the value of the war bond without increasing the price. Not to mention that players can earn premium currency Helldivers 2Super Credits, naturally through the game. Premium Warbonds aren't the only source of stratagems either Helldivers 2Main Orders occasionally offer Stratagem rewards for successful completion.

can be a slow process as players normally only collect 10 Super Specimens per pickup, although there is a rare chance that players will find a stack of 100 Super Specimens.

On the other hand, Helldivers 2 it already has a price tag, and locking more and more coveted items like Stratagems behind paywalls can be frustrating for players who have already purchased the game. If these Stratagems immediately become a new meta, if the price of future Warbonds increases significantly, or both, the addition of Stratagems to Warbonds could potentially be pushed back. Helldivers 2 to the always controversial pay-to-win format. However, these are incredibly big “ifs” and there is no concrete evidence yet to suggest that this will ever become true.

So despite the strong initial response to Warbonds containing Stratagems, it's possible that this will become a trend in future updates for Helldivers 2and harmless at that. Since Chemical Agents Warbond has already let the cat out of the bag without being too problematic, it's probably not a cause for concern that Stratagems become a regular addition to future Warbonds.
