Xbox is giving away a trio of free games that can now be claimed by all console players, providing bite-sized experiences perfect for quick wins. Iconic gaming brand Microsoft has established itself as a giant in the industry since the debut of the first Xbox in 2001, becoming one of the big three console developers. The Xbox Series X/S have sold tens of millions of consoles worldwide, with the Xbox online marketplace boasting a wide variety of different games for players to try out. However, Microsoft's brand achievements have been one of the biggest innovations of the console line.
Microsoft first introduced the achievements of the Xbox brand with the launch of the Xbox 360 in 2005. The achievements and the iconic Xbox Gamerscore combined with the total number of players paved the way for many other platforms such as Steam and PlayStation to follow suit with their own successes. “Gamerscore” has also become a particular point of bragging rights for many Xbox gamers, with some players actively seeking out games with easy-to-earn achievements to add to their repertoire. Now, Xbox fans can pick up three new games for free, with two boasting quick and easy achievements.

Three new Xbox games are completely free to play
Xbox fans have three brand new games to get absolutely free on the Xbox Marketplace, including some with easy achievements. Galaxy puzzleas the name suggests, is a simplified puzzle-based puzzle game in which players piece together several scenes in the game. Coloring book is another game that plays very close to its name, giving players a pseudo-art tool to paint several different scenes. Heroes of the Cup is the most stylistically different game of the three, coming as a retro-inspired RPG offering “challenging puzzles,” “epic adventures” and more. Each game is also available on other platforms, with Galaxy puzzle on PlayStation, Coloring book on switch a Heroes of the Cup on switches and mobile devices.
While none of the games appear to be as robust in terms of their gameplay, they do have some easy Xbox achievements for players to earn. Players can reportedly earn all available achievements Galaxy puzzle within 40 to 50 minutes Coloring bookA player's achievements can be completely erased within an hour or so of playing. Heroes of the Cup it doesn't include any achievements, though the laid-back RPG supports cloud saves and is one of the games included as part of the Xbox “Play Anywhere” program.
The range of free games for Xbox is constantly growing
The trio of free-to-play games joins the ever-growing library of Xbox games that players can try for free. Many of the most popular online gaming titles such as Fortnite and Genshin Impactcan be played on console without spending a dime. Lots of smaller developers often make their games free to play on Xbox to attract attention and new players. The Xbox Game Pass subscription even regularly gives players new games to try through “Free Play Days,” which recently allowed fans to try out games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on holidays.
Xbox fans have a lot to look forward to from Microsoft's console during 2026, with some big name games set to release. Xbox will welcome the return Fable series that comes as a reboot of the beloved RPG series and the first Fable game since 2010 Fairy tale 3.
