The aptly named My Hero Academia follows Deku and his friends, a group of teenagers born with superpowers known as Quirks, as they attend their superhero academy, the prestigious UA High School. While the main focus is on Izuku and his classmates from 1-A, you shouldn't forget that 1-B is full of heroes in training as great as their counterparts, as seen from the Joint Training and School Festival arcs.

With so many spectacular villains, these didn't get enough attention.
From copying Quirks to creating psychedelics right in your lungs, this group of kids have some Quirks that we're glad aren't in the hands of the villains. Here are ranked the strongest students in Class 1-B of Boku no Hero Academia.
7
Tetsutetsu Tetsutestu
Will Of Steel
|
Hero name |
Real steel |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Steel |
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu or Tetsu x4 is not the name of his hero. Instead, it's his birth name, even though it sounds like some foreign onomatopoeia. He is Kirishima's rival and best friend from Class 1-A and likes Quirk, who is quite similar to him.
Steel allows Tetsutetsu to harden his body and give him the properties of steel. This, coupled with his strong will and undying spirit, make him one of the toughest opponents a villain can face. Although he lost to Kirishima at the beginning of the series, he has grown a lot since then and is an example of a true hero, even as a student.
6
Itsuka Kendo
Big hands, big brain
|
Hero name |
Battle Fist |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Big fist |
Itsuka Kendo is the representative of Class 1-B. He is also the brains of the group, a class tactician and strategist. She is very impressive as a person as she is able to go toe to toe against 1-A's Yaoyorozu Momo in a battle of wits.

From childhood 'friends' to bitter archenemies.
Her Quirk is much on the simpler side of abilities. Big Fist, as the name suggests, allows Kendo to enlarge its hands. This gives her superhuman strength and an excellent way to keep multiple enemies together. He makes great use of this otherwise bland Quirk and makes him an even bigger leader as he commands Class 1-B.
5
Jurota Shishida
Beast with brains
|
Hero name |
Gevauden |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Beast |
Fans of the X-Men series might find parallels between Shishida and Beast, with the first Quirk also named Beast. At first glance, Jurota Shishida seems like a character with strong brains, someone you'd expect to go on a wild rampage. His theme doesn't help his cause either, he literally looks and acts like a beast.
However, Shishida is one of the smartest tacticians in 1-B, second only to Kendo. His intellect aside, he has a pretty versatile Quirk that gives him enhanced strength, speed, instincts, and sense. Although the hero Gevauden is often overlooked in favor of his fellow students, he is someone that the Society of Heroes could greatly benefit from.
4
Ibara Shiozaki
Best hair at UA
|
Hero name |
Vines, Maria (former) |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Vines |
Ibara Shiozaki is the most beautiful student at UA and also very powerful. Unlike other heroes who have to go Plus Ultra to show off their power, Ibara can simply stand still and hold her hands together in prayer and let her hair do all the work.

Who are the best students in Class 1-A My Hero Academia?
What allows her to do this is her Quirk, Vines, which allows her to use her hair as extremely durable ropes. These can be used to defend, to attack, and also to immobilize enemies or structures. Ibara's ability is absurdly powerful and it's a shame that the anime didn't explore it much after the initial screening.
3
Monoma Neito
Everything for one at home
|
Hero name |
The Phantom Thief |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Copy |
All for One is arguably the single most powerful Quirk in Boku no Hero Academia, allowing the user to steal and store whatever Quirk suits their wishes. While Monoma's Copy isn't as powerful as the original, it still gives our favorite arrogantly annoying raccoon a taste of what it means to be the meanest villain in MHA.
Monoma's Quirk activates upon physical contact with the target, giving it the target's Quirk. This ability works best in scenarios where Monoma can touch multiple targets and switch between abilities, either tagging enemies or providing support to allies. His personality may not be heroic, but Monoma has proven that his Copy can outrun the originals very easily.
2
Kinoko Komori
|
Hero name |
Shemage |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Mushroom |
Komori isn't the biggest hero, nor are the mushrooms as scary looking as many of the other Quirks in the My Hero Academia universe. However, we saw how terrifying this underrated force could be when it overpowered the Class 1-A students during their joint training arc, suffocating them from within.

9 lingering questions we have after the end of My Hero Academia
The My Hero Academia manga wrapped it up nicely, but there are still unanswered questions.
Unfortunately, as impressive as the previous effort was, it's not even the peak of Komori's power. Her Quirk is described as letting her grow any type of mushroom her spores land on. Unless stated otherwise, this gives Komori access to various psychedelics or even instantly poisonous mushrooms, making her Quirk a force to be reckoned with.
1
Juzo Honenuki
It softens everything it touches
|
Hero name |
Mudman |
|---|---|
|
Quirk |
Softening |
Juzo Honenuki was researched to be part of the Hero Course, much like Torodoki and Momo from Class 1-A. That should already put him above his peers, but his Quirk and the tactical use of said Quirk in the common training arc is what really makes him shine brighter than even those in 1-A.
Mudman's Quirk, Softening, allows him to turn anything he touches into a kind of semi-liquid. This works great as a way to keep enemies from moving, trapping them in quicksand, but it's also a great way for Juzo to safely travel and float through whatever material he's used his Quirk on. We've already seen Pro Hero with a similar quirk of how Juzo's Softening works with Cementoss, so there's no doubt that he'll end up being a very strong part of Heroes' arsenal.
