It's been a bit of a shaky year for developer/publisher Ubisoft. After a rough 2024 that brought big titles like Star Wars Outlaws and Skull and bones fails to meet internal expectations, early 2025 hasn't fared much better, with the publisher's February 2025 financial report confirming a 31.4% drop in revenue. Things looked pretty grim for Ubisoft's future for a while, but according to Ubisoft's November financial report, things may not be as bad as they seem. Assassin's Creed continues to prove it's worth its weight in gold.
It may have met with a somewhat mixed reception from fans, but Assassin's Creed Shadows when it was released in March 2025, it received very favorable reviews from many critics, currently sitting at an 81 top critic average on OpenCritic. Assassin's Creed Shadows it also “outperformed” in terms of revenue, as did Legacy, according to Ubisoft's November financial report Assassin's Creed titles, with the entire franchise collectively generating “211 million session days”. With the future of many of its franchises unclear, Ubisoft seems more likely than ever to go all-in. Assassin's Creedand that could mean a busy 2026 for the popular stealth-action franchise.

On my way to platinum, I've just finished one of the most overlooked entries in the series in every Assassin's Creed game, and it's begging to be replayed.
What to expect from Assassin's Creed Shadows in 2026
