CD Projekt Red is one of the most fascinating AAA developers on the gaming scene right now. After years of building goodwill with Charmer franchise, the company's reputation was in danger of being destroyed by a disastrous release Cyberpunk 2077. Now after years of updates and great Phantom Liberty DLC, CD Projekt Red is once again seen as a creatively rich and impressive force in the industry. Hopefully, this upward trajectory will continue in the coming years.
And 2025 is sure to be an interesting and potentially pivotal year for the studio, even though no major releases are planned. In fact, CD Projekt Red is juggling a number of promising projects right now, including new major entries in both Charmer and Cyberpunk 2077 franchises and a number of spin-offs. The prestigious developer is certainly leaning to the grindstone, and even if the fruits of much of that work don't materialize this year, viewers could definitely get more information about them.

Don't expect The Witcher 4 or Cyberpunk 2 in 2025
Before we look at what 2025 has in store for CD Projekt Red, it might be worth setting some realistic, if disappointing, expectations for the current calendar year. Charmer fans were riding high The Witcher 4A cinematic reveal at this past Game Awards and some even speculated that the game would be released sometime in 2025. The only evidence to support such a claim is a statement by CDPR CEO Adam Kicinski in 2022 where he said that The Witcher 4 at least three years away from launch. Since the game has only just been revealed, and via a pre-rendered movie rather than gameplay, it's safe to say that CDPR isn't on the low end of that estimate.
Similarly, 2025 is unlikely to be the year CD Projekt Red pulls down the curtain Cyberpunk 2077 continued with code designation Project Orion. Project Orion it only entered its R&D phase last year, so while CDPR undoubtedly has big plans for this next chapter in the series, it's highly unlikely that those plans will be shed light on within the next twelve months.
The Witcher 3 modding scene could explode in 2025
The Witcher 3 has always had a rich modding scene, but in 2025 it could enter a new era of greatness. This is thanks to CD Projekt Red's proprietary mod editor that was introduced to the game last June, which should make modding easier and more accessible than ever before. With the arrival of these new tools, what many consider to be CDPR's magnum opus is likely to expand with both ambitious and small mods, so players interested in this side of the game's community and legacy should definitely keep an eye out over the next few months.
CD Projekt Red may release a Witcher multiplayer announcement this year
One of the many projects in development at CD Projekt Red is a Charmer multiplayer spin-off, referred to simply as Project Sirius. Project Sirius development is said to have restarted in early 2023, suggesting it could be in order. WITH Phantom Liberty from the road as Project Sirius with it positioned as the next taxi out of line in CDPR's 2022 strategy update, there's a good chance the company will address viewers in 2025 about its status. At the very least, it could shed some light on whether the project has actually been restarted. and whether the view of him has changed.
