When it comes to the pantheon of beloved portable consoles, PS Vita it sits in a slightly odd place. It was a fun, really inventive console, even though it didn't have any support from Sony, especially internationally. That makes it even more cruel after a strong start.

After a strong launch line-up, the games only dwindled past the original in development, especially when Sony turned to the PS4 instead. A lot of Vita games ended up being ported to the PS4 as well, though they lacked some of what made them so special in portable form. So with all those caveats out of the way, let's get a rough number. In total, PS Vita has somewhere around 1800 gameswith a few decent games still running after the official end date. This number jumps much higher when you consider the various emulated games on the platform from the PSP and PS1.

This is a bit trickier due to the digital store being disabled on the PS Vita. Or rather the lack of shutdown. No more games can be added to the digital store, with a deadline set July 2021. The last games released on the PS Vita at the time were Brotherhood United, Killer Dolls United, Witchcrafty, Mind Maze, Ultra Mission and Russian Subway Dogs. All amazing games on a small scale.

However, the same is not true of physical release. Even if they don't see a general release, every now and then a limited edition physical game is released for PS Vita. The latest of them is Jet Set Knights, released in June 2023 as a Play Asia exclusive store. There's no real deadline if Sony certifies them, so there could be even more in the future.
