It was definitely interesting to watch the shooter community settle in Battlefield 6only for something completely different to start bubbling right next to it. Arc Raider showed up with its extraction shooter game loop, dropped players into a deeply immersive world full of surprises, and suddenly everyone was talking about it. The timing seems almost coincidental, and yet the response has been anything but. Battlefield 6 still pulling big numbers but Arc Raider has many curious players jumping Battlefield ship and heads to the Rust Belt instead.
Given its pre-launch hype, there was no doubt about that Battlefield 6 will be one of the best multiplayer games of 2025. It has attracted a lot of attention from popular streamers and Call of Duty players looking for something different, and its beta success was proof enough that it could potentially take over the shooter. But it's coming Arc Raider with a completely different genre and gameplay loop that offers something that is many Battlefield 6 players feel it's not giving them right now, and finding out what it is can tell a lot about where multiplayer shooters could be headed next.
Battlefield 6 feels like the “same old game everyone's played before”
One of the main reasons some Battlefield 6 the players left it at Arc Raider it's because it looks like “the same old game everyone's played before” in comparison. In fact, according to user StickyIcky313 in a recent Reddit post titled “SIB ARC Raiders or BF6?,” that's exactly the case. To this user's point, Battlefield 6 is the next entry in an FPS series that has been around for over two decades and its similarities to other FPS series such as Call of Dutyit doesn't help that it feels like a new experience.
Despite being what some may refer to as 'another extraction shooter', what it does Arc Raider feeling like something shooter fans have never experienced before is the unprecedented accessibility it brings to the genre. Before Arc RaiderExtraction shooters have been somewhat unique due to the sheer challenge involved, but Embark Studios has created something that even those unfamiliar with the genre's gameplay loop can relate to.
What's more, it is Arc RaiderThe PvPvE design could be seen as a much needed break Battlefield 6PvP gameplay. While players can defeat other players in Arc Raiderit does a great job of bringing just enough challenge with its PvE gameplay that PvP isn't the main priority. Those who like the tension of a PvP game but still want to battle formidable AI enemies can find a well-executed combination Arc Raider. Add to that some satisfying crafting progression and a large skill tree and Arc Raider it's starting to look like a more worthwhile way to spend your time than Battlefield 6.
Arc Raiders is more impressive than Battlefield 6
That cannot be denied Battlefield 6 looks and sounds fantastic. Its visuals are crisp, its animations clear, and its sound design and gunplay are top-notch for a first-person military shooter. However, there is very little time to really immerse yourself in its world, as the action is almost non-stop once the bike actually gets going.
As Glass_Farmer_1830 stated in the same Reddit post above, “Arc is definitely more immersive” than Battlefield 6 because “there's a distinct lack of tension because you're constantly in its strong current with millisecond engagement.” Arc Raider can be just as visually impressive as Battlefield 6but its atmosphere, sound design, and quiet moments between the heat increase its immersion tenfold by creating the necessary tension to keep players constantly on edge.
Finally, Arc Raider already recognized as having a better community than Battlefield 6with the latter's community being called “toxic” by several users, including Damien23123, in the aforementioned Reddit thread. To be fair, first-person shooters like Battlefield 6 they tend to foster toxic communities over time due to their zero-sum, high-stakes competitive design. Arc Raideron the other hand, while he still enjoys high stakes, he is far more lenient, especially when it comes to his PvP side.
This could be it Arc Raider' community is only praised at this point as the game is still quite young, but only time will tell. for now Arc Raider“The solo experience, for one, remains the poster child for its community, as most other solo players focus too much on the PvE aspects of the game to bother killing other players. This creates a community of players who are willing to help each other out and not shoot others when they yell “Don't shoot!”
at the time of writing Arc RaiderThe number of players on Steam alone is still balancing Battlefield 6's, but according to Steam Charts, Battlefield 6The 24-hour high has been steadily declining since November 2nd. In addition, with Arc Raider reviews still trickle in, his own peak could rise beyond its current state. Still, it clearly drags players away Battlefield 6 for the fresh experience it offers, its indelible immersion and community.
