Zer0 is easily one of the most popular Border characters in the franchise, and that's saying something considering how beloved so many vault hunters are. Its popularity in Borderlands 2 saw his story continue Borderlands 3his appearance in Fairy tales games and his form/presence replicated in Borderlands Mobile timed test.
As it turns out, Borderlands Mobile is a real game that has been overshadowed by several caveats. It's just a test that's set to be removed later this month, but the test seems to be taking off with how fans have responded positively to most of the components. However, this is clearly not being done and it seems Borderlands Mobile it doesn't even have to be the official name. There are currently four Vault Hunters designed for the game, but only one – the Summoner – has seen any action. However, that doesn't mean fans can see what they bring to the table and that Assassin Vault Hunter brings the energy of “Zer0 at Home” to the table.
Borderlands Mobile already beats Borderlands 4 to the max
A new Borderlands game has suddenly appeared in the iPhone app store, beating Borderlands 4 (and BL3) to a very important content type.
Zer0 vs. The New Borderlands Mobile Assassin
First, the visual similarities between Assassin and Zer0 (whose class name is Assassin) are striking. The Zer0 features a muted steel/black color scheme with only a few bolder colors to stand out. There is the red of his mask and the blue of his sword. Meantime, Borderlands MobileThe Assassin has the same steel aesthetic, but complements it a bit more with the same blue color as the Zer0 sword. Actually, Borderlands Mobile you could say it was a new version of Zer0 and it would make perfect sense. However, at the time of writing, this does not appear to be the case.
In addition, action abilities for Borderlands Mobile's Assassin and Borderlands 2's Assassin (that's Zer0) are very similar. Zer0's Decepti0n class ability allowed him to cloak, fire a clone for aggro, and sneak up for massive damage. While it could be s Borderlands 2's weapons, the biggest bonus went to melee damage (up to +650%). BLM's Assassin, meanwhile, uses the Slice and Dice action skill to destroy enemies in close combat with an automatic dash and improved dodge. They are different, sure, but two sides of the same coin: one is secret murder, the other continuous murder.
The stealth-oriented “Assassin” or Vault Hunter is of course in almost every game. In the original it was Mordecai Borderwith Zane's Operative class being very similar to an Assassin Borderlands 3and Borderlands 4Rafa is a bit of an Assassin/Soldier crossover. They may all come from similar class design trees, but that's also clear BLM's Assassin is the closest Borderlands 2's Zer0 than others in the franchise. Ultimately, it feels like a deliberate, modern reinterpretation of Zer0 and is the reason for the “Zer0 at H0me” vibe.
Taken as a whole, the similarities between Borderlands Mobilee Assassin (which will hopefully get a name with the full release) and Zer0 suggest a clear design line rather than random overlap. Each Border the game developed the concept, and while Assassin is getting too close to Zer0 right now, it's entirely possible that both the design and abilities will change over time. Unless they are more closely related to Zer0 than we could yet know. Perhaps this new Assassin is Zer0's mentee, much like Ava was Siren Maya's apprentice. Fans will have to wait and see, as it's likely that this Mobile Assassin will have little to no impact on the franchise, but it would probably be much cooler if it did – if there was a reason it would be so similar to Zer0.
