On October 12, 2024, three discos successors were unveiled on the same day. One of them was the Longue Game Studios, which revealed that he was working on the “psychogeographic” RPG, which was later revealed that Hopetown was named. Then Dark Math Games was announced, along with a trailer for their first game XXX Nightshift.
And in the shocking twist at the last minute, the third studio, Summer Eternal, came up with what I could only describe as a manifesto on the rights of workers and a statement about the intention to create a RPG with “complexity and ambition” to compete with our “poor and beautiful world”.
The fourth studio with the successor, led by the head of Disco Elysia Robert Kurvitz and the head of the art and design of Aleksander Rostov, is led, but nothing was officially introduced for this project.
Hopetown vs. C4 project
This week history has repeated. Longde officially introduced his Hopetown with his first trailer. I have already dissected his only game screen and the reasons for the suspicious, but the announcement of the game would be explained that Martin Luiga, a founding member for/UM Collective and one of the developers who “involuntarily” left the company in 2021, contributed to narrative and gaming systems. The team is at least one other disco alum, although other contributors and what They are added to the mix, it remains unclear.
Then, on the same day, the original Disco Elysium studio Za/UM finally revealed the project on which it works. The C4 project is not Disco Elysium 2, but an original gaming camp around the espionage. Players will control the operat “to serve dubious global power” and try to complete “desperate tasks that expose them to the risk of losing life or much worse – exposed to what they really are”.
Like Disco Elysium, he will play a key role in the game. Instead of motivating players to try to get a perfect result through roles, the story is responsible for your failure and moves no matter.
Chase for influence
It is difficult to imagine that this simultaneous revelation is a coincidence. While October 2024 was the five -year anniversary of Disco Elysia (although the announcement was a few days earlier than the actual release date), there is no special opportunity now. It is 365 days in the year, but these games keep their heads.
The problem with the two games – indeed all the spiritual successors of the modern classic – is that they are trying to drive the same wave and earn the success of Disco to hover to the same heights. Surprisingly, it is perhaps the least entitled to this influence than its many competitors, except for perhaps XXX Nightshift.
It is far from studying when Disco Elysium has started. Many original teams have left the studio (either voluntarily or involuntarily), and many key figures were excluded in a nasty dispute on court proceedings. Some of these developers have separated themselves to create their own studies and successors, but the final result is that it has lost what many consider to be a secret sauce – brains behind the game.

For/um cannot get back its goodwill
PUSH they are Still some members of this original team have gone in the following/skills to be fair. The writer and editor of Justin Keenan and artist Anton Vill, whose work is in the C4 trailer project, are still in the studio, like some other members. These developers did not have a hand in what happened to the Disco team, and I am sure they want to make a game they are proud of.
But with so many drama surrounding the studio and so many of its key talents who have gone to work on other projects, it will be difficult to get fans back to board with the/skill. If the comments are under the hint of the game, it seems that many DISCO fans will take a hard attitude against the C4 project. One comment says, ““ We brought you Disco Elysium. Another says, “Talking dead corpse”. Another says, “From the studio that killed disco Elysium”.
Even the introductory Disco Elysium – the last steam cut will reveal negative reviews that claim that she has stolen the studio with her original developers and cut them. He will fight his reputation with the battle uphill that I am not sure he will win.
