PlayStation Plus fans are eagerly waiting for April 15th as it will bring another batch of games to the extra level of service. For some, the second batch of monthly games has become more anticipated than the initial Essential drop, as consistency has been one of PS Plus Extra's main strengths for several months now. While PS Plus Essential has been hit or miss so far in 2026 – April is the only month that's been stellar, not to mention some clear disappointments like February Unexceptionable — Extra knocked it out of the park every time. And with PS Plus Extra's phenomenal streak continuing in 2025, it's very certain that whatever games are announced next week will satisfy gamers.
PS Plus subscribers are eligible for an extra bonus in April 2026
PlayStation Plus subscribers are eligible for extra attention this month, but they'll have to act fast.
So far, PS Plus Extra offers at least one major AAA release every month. January kicked things off in style with a combination of horror and action with Resident Evil Village and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. WITH Resident Evil Requiem it came out just a month later and was a great way to build hype for the new game while enticing horror fans to subscribe to Extra. Then in February, an excellent exclusivity for PlayStation 5 Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been added to PS Plus Extra, giving superhero fans a critically acclaimed experience they can enjoy as they please. March went on to play the fan favorite Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2which offers plenty of fun for co-op fans looking for their group's next big game. Persona 5 Royal also came to Extra in March and once again gave JRPG fans some love.
This only counts the most popular titles added each month, as some great indies have been added to PS Plus Extra this year, such as Nevanot to mention sports games like Madden NFL 26.

And while 2026 was certainly a great year for those who subscribed to PS Plus Extra, it would be a disservice to the category if we didn't highlight its new releases for 2025. The following games all came to PS Plus Extra in 2025, sweetening the deal even more and cementing it as the best tier available for PlayStation fans:
- God of War Ragnarok (January)
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (February)
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (March)
- Hogwarts heritage (April)
- Battlefield 1 (April)
- Battlefield 5 (May)
- Battlefield 2042 (June)
- Diablo 4 (July)
- Lies P (August)
- WWE 2K25 (September)
- Persona 5 Tactics (September)
- Alan Wake 2 (October)
- Grand Theft Auto 5 (November)
- Red Dead Redemption (December)
- Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (December)
- Assassin's Creed Mirage (December)
PS Plus Extra has probably been hot for more than a year, but if we could see the month when Battlefield 2042 was the headliner as the weak link (although BF 2042 improved drastically), then the streak is 9 months. However, the bottom line is clear: PS Plus Extra almost never misses, as it regularly adds blockbusters to its catalog to keep subscribers happy.
Given this impressive run, it's only fitting for PS Plus Extra to get the ball rolling, though how it will do that was unclear. There isn't really a specific pattern that Sony follows for extras, although they may be adding Resident Evil Village on PS Plus Extra just before Requiemrelease could indicate a more thoughtful approach to this level. Perhaps one of the April 2026 PS Plus Extra slots will be used to tease the upcoming release, and there are several contenders to consider.
First of all, it is Sarosanother big console exclusive PlayStation 5 from Return developer Saros. While Return it's on PS Plus Extra as is Resogunperhaps another similar Housemarque classic Nex Machina could have been added to further highlight the past work of the first party studio. Next is here LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knightwhich could be promoted by adding another LEGO Batman games to PS Plus Extra. Finally, 007: First Light from Hitman developer IO Interactive will launch in late May and add the developer's last Hitman games for the service could be a fun way to introduce Bond fans to the studio's style. Obviously, there is no guarantee that any of these games will make it to the service, as this is purely speculation based on the approach taken earlier in 2026. What is certain, however, is that PS Plus Extra will definitely add at least one amazing game to its lineup on April 15, 2026.
