At the beginning of the story, Pop Step and Koichi seems to meet a clean accident, but later we will learn that this is not the case. Koichi is not about it, at least for the time being, but Kazuho saved a few years before the beginning of the story and has been obsessed since then. Although Vigilant indicates several potential romantic interests for Koichi, The series may disappoint those who expect specific romance. At the end of the series, Koichi is surprised when Makoto admits his feelings to him, but does not immediately match it. Makoto gives him time to answer because he knows he might be interested in pop step. In the end, however, none of these relationships is confirmed and many fans leave frustrated. At least Makoto and Kazuho leave their differences and develop great friendships.
Since Kazuho is significantly younger than Koichi, it makes a lot of sense that he would not talk to her when she was still minor. However, the series is later when Kazuho and Koichi are older, so there would be a place for them to end together. Alternatively, Koichi should choose Makoto because they will probably live in the US by the end of the series. Maybe Anime will change it.
