That is, until one day a witch named Qifrey shows up at her door looking for the fabric. Soon after, Coco learns the secret of magic in the worst possible way – with her mother petrified. Desperate to bring her back, Coco begs the man to be her teacher, and he obliges, leading her to a new life as a disciple. For those who grew up with Harry Potter and dreamed of one day being told they were witches or wizards, the premise is instantly gratifying.
