Xbox Game Pass update adds 2 more titles

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is now available at Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Its arrival coincides with the addition of RPG 2025 to the premium tier of Xbox Game Pass.

Developed by Ubisoft subsidiary Massive Entertainment, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the latest video game based on James Cameron's sci-fi franchise. It was released for PC and consoles in February 2025 and generated mostly positive buzz in the press, as underscored by its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, based on an average score of 80 and 83% recommendation from reviewers. Critics praised Avatar: Frontiers of PandoraAn authentic rendition of Pandora and convincing combat, citing repetitive side content and a weak story as the game's main flaws.

Xbox Game Pass adds 2 Day-One games, one with 4-player co-op

Two more day one releases are joining the Xbox Game Pass library, one of which is a crazy Early Access title with four-player co-op.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has now joined Microsoft's subscription service for the first time ever, debuting today on the PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tiers. The February 17 catalog update, which marks the end of this month's Wave 1 lineup, also expanded the Xbox Game Pass Premium library, which now includes Open. Obsidian Entertainment's fantasy RPG joins the service's middle tier just one day before its first anniversary. Like any other title developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, Open has been part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate catalog since day one. After today's update, it's available on all service tiers except Essential.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Open formally wraps up the Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup for February 2026. Based on Microsoft's announcement patterns, the Wave 2 roster may be officially confirmed today, February 17, most likely around 9:00 a.m. ET. The build will include version 1.0 Towerbornea side-scrolling ARPG from Stoic Studio that's scheduled to end early access on February 17th, which is also when it's slated to join Xbox Game Pass Premium. The Game Preview version of the colorful title is available to PC Game Pass and Ultimate level subscribers from February 2025.

With Xbox Game Pass losing five titles in February 2026, its content catalog is on track to make a significant net profit this month. The service has already added 14 titles since February 1st, with the Wave 2 lineup yet to be revealed. This is already a huge improvement compared to February 2025, when there were only eight new arrivals and twice as many departures.

Looking further ahead, Planet Lana 2, Exchanged, Nova Roma, Forza Horizon 6and Beast from Reincarnation all are scheduled to join Xbox Game Pass between March and August 2026, having already received specific release dates. More than 20 other titles with tentative launch windows in 2026 were previously confirmed as the first additions to Microsoft's games-on-demand library. They include Tropic 7, Witchbrook, Wildekin, Super Meat Boy 3Dand Subnautica 2among others.
