Yakuza Kiwami 3 is not just a remake, it's all new as the dragon experience

Any long -term or extremely popular series of video games will inevitably encounter the problem of attracting new players who can no longer experience older records to obsolete the hardware. This is probably the reason Ryu Ga Gotoku was remodeling the first two Yakuza games such as Kiwami 1 and 2, which redesigned playing and graphic engines, improved the fight and added depth to characters, narration and much more.

New content in the form of extended places has been added to explore and more fine minigames, Majima everywhere for kiwami and a brand new saga for an engaging figure in Kiwami 2. These improvements make both kiwami a definite way to experience this chapter Yakuza. And now, with the announcement of Yakuza Kiwami 3, Sega jumps again on board the remake.

The seven -year waiting for the kiwami 3 was worth it

Yakuza Kiwami was first launched in 2017, Kiwami 2 after 2018 after 2018. Of course, fans speculated that we would see even more remodeling of this fashion and predict them in rapid succession, given that it was only a year among the first two years.

Given that the games that have been administered by kiwami were the only two playstation 2 titles, and therefore they need modernization most, it made sense. In addition, in 2019 we received a remastered version of Yakuza 3, which checked that the box was brought to the world of modern games, although modernized differently. But that will change.

We waited seven long years for Yakuza Kiwami 3 and after we went with it last week, I can tell you that waiting was worth it.

Like the previous Kiwami titles, Kiwami 3 has been fully redesigned with the intention of developing “every aspect” of the game. The small section I played remains stories, remaining awareness, but take a whole new rental of life with improved models of characters and environments, so far to completely change the appearance of certain characters – such as Rikiya – and at the same time tell the narrative. Time will show if all these changes will go well with fans.

The struggle was also redesigned, while Kiryu could now replace the dragon and Battle Styles between the dragon. I assure you when you first focus on Ryukyu and Kiryu, pulls out the sword and shield, make you do it twice. When he saw him with the joints of the duster, the same bizarre feeling evoked.

I say a sword and a shield, but in fact Kiryu uses several Japanese weapons such as Tonfa and Nunchaku, and the shield is actually Tinbe Rochin, while the joints are Truko.

There are several remarkable inclusions that have been inherited from newer as dragon titles. Street Surfer is back, although he looks much more Janka in design to suit the earlier time period of 2009. You can adapt to Kiryu's clothes and probably recognize a lot of options from a man who deleted his name and infinity wealth. You can also use search mode to collect errors and other items while there is a new system of friends where you can connect to others using a flip phone called Red Fate of Fate.

The ways Kiryu and NPC connect their phones by giving me immediate flashbacks to the days of sending things through Bluetooth.

There are also new Karaoke songs and a new feature where you can customize your flip phone and show it as part of the store ad. While we have only seen a short section during our demo, Kiwami 3 will include new mini games such as cooking, fishing, bowling and many options for starting.

Most of the new content is clearly inspired or based on the recent content as dragon titles, so it pays off seven years of waiting. If we received Kiwami 3 in 2019, I am sure it would be fine, but it would not be exposed to the same level of visual and mechanical development. I feel like a modern Yakuza game through and through a place of jazzy look into the past.

Return to the golden age of the tojo clan

Kiryu kicks a crime in Yakuza kiwami 3.

One of the things that excites me most on Yakuza Kiwami 3 is that we go back to the Tojo clan in his first -class clans before Yakuza clans began to dissolve and began to be eliminated by new laws against crime. Although I love navigation in the changing waters of the Japanese underworld during the series, the real world reflects, it will be nice to return to the time when Yakuza turned the streets in their unbelievable shirts when Kiryu found himself when trying to cope with complicated family policy while trying to escape his life for good.

We will also get to some of our beloved favorite characters in their first -class characters, characters that have been eliminated or captivated by the back seat since then, so it is so good that the band will join again. We will experience Kiryu's fame, which feels like such a retribution after a heavy atmosphere of Kiryu's fate in endless wealth.

While Combat had divided fans since RGG introduced a tour based in Yakuza 7 -based struggles: as a dragon, I have always been a fixed supporter of the real -time event. So I am glad that in Kiwami 3 I will return to my rapidly developing, button ways and even more enthusiastic mixing things with the new Ryukyu style.

Being fast on your feet and faster with fists has always felt like the main part of the series. On the street you beat criminals, break the wheels on your heads, and want to be able to hammer the driver to tuck their enemies into the ground. I like the struggle based on the turn, but nothing feels better for me than the slaughter of the meat.

Although it can be a risky step to play with original and beloved material, I always have to applaud when society is over and behind the remake. You could easily remodel the game from the ground up to look and run better, but not to bother to add new elements before they call it a day. It will check that the modern availability of a box without a stir, without Muss and the little risk of angry fans by switching things … like the face of the character. (The more I think about it, the more I believe the new appearance of Rikiya will not have long -time fans.)

The first two Kiwami games showed that the expansion of the original material was a winning movement, but the classic playstation 2 titles were quite Boji compared to what came later. The further we get into the series, the more they play with them, and maybe the more they risk, but I think it's worth gambling. I don't just want to play Yakuza 3; If I did it, I could just play a remaster. I want to re -experience Yakuza 3 in a whole new way, and that's what Kiwami 3 offers.
