PS Plus Premium subscribers can play Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth a little earlier, thanks to the free trial version of the game. Sony ended last year on a high with an unusually high number of free monthly games, leaving fans wondering how the 2026 lineup would compare. There are already some gems to look forward to on PlayStation Plus, and one is technically playable ahead of its official launch date.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of nine games coming to PS Plus on January 20 and is one of the month's highlights. The Like a Dragon the series as a whole has gained a cult following for its reimagined characters and elaborate worlds with endless hours of content and Infinite wealth is often considered one of the best. Even better, PS Plus users with a Premium subscription can dive into it without waiting for the 20th day.
PS Plus is losing one of its most emotionally charged games and 3 other titles in January 2026
PlayStation Plus subscribers have to say goodbye to one of the service's most emotionally charged games and three other titles in January.
PS Plus Premium users can now play as a dragon: Infinite Wealth
As Redditor Another_Ninja_9699 pointed out, Infinite wealth is playable right now as it has a free trial that can tide players over until the full game ends on January 20th. Free is only available at the Premium level, so PS Plus Extra users will have to wait until the 20th, but it's a nice surprise for anyone with the right subscription. It's just a demo, not a full game, but Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth it has a 10-hour trial on PS Plus, which is much longer than most demos and certainly long enough for a few lengthy games between now and 20. Save data should carry over from the free trial as well, so players won't have to go back and play again once the title is available in its entirety.
Infinite wealth is not the first game in the story since the series was rebranded Yakuza on Like a Dragonso players may be a little lost in the narrative if this trial is their first foray into the franchise. Still, other fans say that the story, which is on the convoluted side, is less important than the gameplay, so it's good to jump into it anytime. While people may disagree on whether it is good Like a Dragon experience, what is not debated is Infinite wealth was one of the top-rated games of 2024, so the chance to play it a little earlier for free is hard to pass up.
The game could also serve as a nice way to entice fans until the eventual launch Grand Theft Auto 6. Some say Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is one of the best GTA– as PS5 games and easily offers over 60 hours of playtime, so it's worth a look for anyone waiting for Rockstar's big November release. There's no end date listed for the free trial, so it looks like anyone with a PS Plus Premium subscription can download and start playing anytime between now and the 20th, when it's available to Extra subscribers.
A few extra days of free play might not be enough to convince many people to upgrade to Premium, but it's still a welcome find. For those who don't have Premium or even Extra, there are now four free PS5 demos that don't require any PS Plus subscription. 2026 still has a long way to go, but for now it's looking like a good time to be a PlayStation fan.
