While the vast majority of them weren't deeply involved in the plot, Yuji Itadori, the previous main character, definitely was. Anime: The Strongest Ki Manipulation Techniques

The power to manipulate Ki is one that is seen in many anime series. However, these abilities are undoubtedly the most powerful.

Yuji Itadori is aging slowly in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Yuji Itadori appeared in JJK Modulo after the human-Simurian conflict officially began. Japan attempted to seek out Yuji Itadori to bring him to champion against Dabur Karaba, the strongest of the Simurians. Unfortunately for them, it never materialized and Yuka Okkotsu had to fight Dabura instead. However, Yuji Itadori appeared later when Aoi Todo replaced him. As the fighting between the humans and the Rumelians continued to escalate, Yuji used the power of Blood Manipulation to end the fight. But his real role came later when he completely exorcises the Cursed Spirits that migrated from Tokyo. After Dabur's battle with Mahoraga, Yuji gave fans a glimpse of his incredible abilities. What came next was even more important as Yuji Itadori was to witness Maru change the world forever.

I will live another 300 years. — Yuji Itadori

Maru decided to completely erase the cursed spirits from existence and unite the two races of Simurians and humans forever. Maru's cursed technique, Chaos and Harmony, chose Yuji Itadori to oversee this pact. As such, Yuji was officially introduced into the main plot and given a very important role in this sequel series. With this, Gege Akutami also confirmed Yuji's fate to the fans. While previously Nobara stated that Yuji Itadori does not age, Yuji clarified that at this point he was more like a cursed spirit than a human, somewhat similar to what happened to Tengen after 500 years of life. At the same time, Yuji Itadori also confirmed that he would live for about 300 years. While the exact lifespan hasn't been given to fans, it's also clear that Yuji isn't immortal either. Yuji will probably die at some point in the future.

Yuji Itadori could die in 300 years

As confirmed in JJK Modulo Chapter 22, Yuji Itadori will end in about 300 years or so. However, this is not exactly good news for fans of the story. This is because Yuji not being able to die immediately prevents him from fulfilling the promise he made to his grandfather at the beginning of the main story. Yuji Itadori doesn't want to live long. In reality, he just wants to die surrounded by the people he loves. This is exactly what Wasuke Itadori told Yuji to do when he died, and Yuji himself intended to do it in the story as well.

Unfortunately for him, he was a special vessel for Ryomen Sukuna born Kenjaku, giving him special properties. The fact that he consumed Images of Death 4-9 only made things worse for him because as it stands Yuji is part human and part cursed spirit and the other half is actually stronger if anything. Yuji's body is aging ridiculously slowly and it's almost like he's still in his prime. Even though Yuji is almost 100 years old, he still looks less than 30 years old, and he has confirmed himself that he will stay alive for another 300 years. This means that Yuji's dream of dying surrounded by those he loves will not come true, and this is a truly tragic ending for the character.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Disappointment Update Part 2

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 gets a disappointing update for part 2

JJK Season 3 has received a massive update that could lead to a massive downgrade for Part 2.

  • All the more tragic is the fact that Yuji loses all his friends one by one. It is highly implied that Megumi Fushiguro is already dead, as are many others such as Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. The fact that all these characters are dead means that Yuji is slowly left on his own, which is also why he has become completely detached from Japanese society. Nobara hasn't seen Yuji in years, and eventually she too dies, while Yuji Itadori remains alive to bear the burden of the great change he and Maru have brought about.

Yuji could become similar to Tengen in the future

Yuji Itadori future tenger jujutsu kaisen modulo

With the way the story has been going, it's quite clear that Yuji Itadori is becoming more like Tengen with each passing chapter. His body is already more cursed spirit than human. Eventually, the cursed spiritual part takes over completely and Yuji becomes similar to Tengen. His physical appearance could also change, and this would give a nod to the events of the Culling arc where Yuji finally met Tengen. While Yuji commented on his strange appearance, Tengen stated that if he lived for 500 years, he would end up looking similar. This was a great foreshadowing of Gege Akutami, and now that Yuji will live another 300 years, his physical appearance will definitely change.

If you live as long as I do, you'll look like this too. — Tengen

The more he lives, the more grotesque he will become and his overall strength will increase as well. Yuji Itadori will become JJK's next Tengenand it is possible that a century later he will die alone and finally rest. For now though, Yuji Itadori has his work cut out for him to watch over the next generation and make sure this big change brought by Maru goes as planned. Yuji himself has stated that he wants to bear the punishment that comes with changing Japan by minimizing the production of cursed spirits as much as possible, and he will see this responsibility through to the end.

As such, at the end of JJK, Yuji Itadori remains alive, but is essentially doomed to his unfortunate fate of staying alive and watching all his friends die one by one. This means that Yuji has also decided to raise the next generation in preparation for the threats the cursed spirits will pose when he is finally gone. This is the perfect bittersweet ending for Gege Akutami's character, and fans couldn't ask for anything better for this great character.
