Trubbish has long been one of my least favorite Pokemon, but it was an adorable detail Pokemon Legends: ZA makes me see the creature in a new light. Pokemon Legends: ZA is the latest record in a long time Pokemon franchise that gives fans a chance to return to Lumiose City in the Kalos region. All kinds of wild Pokémon can be found in the city, with different generations of Pokémon well represented in the game.
The generation 5 Pokémon Trubbish and its evolved form Garbodor are both included Pokemon Legends: ZA. Trubbish and Garbodor have often been called some of the worst Pokemon designs in the entire series, so it's no surprise that Poison-type Pokemon aren't very popular. Trubbish may be kind of cute, but he's also literally a garbage bag with eyes.
I haven't been interested in Trubbish since he was introduced Pokemon black and whiteand I didn't expect my opinion to change Pokemon Legends: ZA. Anyone who wants to complete their Pokemon Legends: ZA Pokedex will have to catch Trubbish, and when he does, he may notice a cute and also heartbreaking detail. While most Pokemon try to avoid being caught, Trubbish seems to want to be caught. When you aim the Poke Ball at Trubbish in Pokemon Legends: ZAhe runs and dances around, seemingly elated that there's someone who wants to add it to their team. I don't know if this was intentional on Game Freak's part, but if so, it's heartbreaking that Trubbish has been neglected for so long that it's excited that anyone wants him. This made me feel bad for the little creature, but it also made me realize that even though its design is based on trash, it's still cute in a way.
How to catch Trubbish in Pokemon Legends: ZA
If you want to hunt down a Trubbish for yourself, it's not hard to find one in Lumiose City. Pokemon Legends: ZA players can catch Trubbish found in alleys and near dumpsters. Catching a Trubbish isn't particularly difficult, although there are often several that need to be tackled at once. Once you catch a Trubbish, you can evolve it into a level 36 Garbodor, a much nastier monstrosity that has far fewer redeeming qualities than its pre-evolved counterpart.
Other Pokémon have their own unique reactions when players approach them Pokemon Legends: ZAand it will be interesting to see how the returning creatures fare in the DLC. While Pokemon Legends: ZA returning Pokemon have yet to be confirmed at the time of writing, the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC is expected to add some familiar faces for fans to add to their roster.
