Zoro's Most OP Moments, Ranking

Luffy might get most of the attention One piecebut his right hand isn't far behind in terms of power and crew value. Zoro was the first person to bond with Luffy after he set out to find One Piece and become the Pirate King. He has played an important role in almost every arc of the series and is a big reason why the Straw Hats have been able to progress as far as they have.

A member of the “Monster Trio” crew alongside Luffy and Sanji, Zoro has seen his fair share of incredible moments and performed almost incredible feats along the way. These are some moments that show just how powerful Zoro can be.

Literally breaking through the wave with Luffy

An incredible feat of teamwork and sheer will

at this point One Piece's the main cast put in some absolutely ridiculous performances. It's incredible to look back at some of the relatively earlier moments, to see Luffy and Zoro smash through a massive tidal wave, literally a force of nature, and not consider it the most powerful thing they've ever done.

Luffy's incredible use of his Devil Fruit aside, Zoro can pull it off with sheer will and strength. This isn't the only time he's completely wowed fans, and it's fun to look back knowing all the cool things he'd do to top off the moment.

Zoro challenges Mihawk

Zoro proves his tenacity and determination, despite the loss

Not only is this a great moment for Zoiro as a character, but it's also one of the most iconic things he's ever done. We all know Zoro's ultimate goal is to become the strongest swordsman in the world, a title currently held by Mihawk. So what does Zoro do? He challenges a former warrior to a duel that no one expected him to win.

It goes as well as you'd expect, the legendary swordsman easily defeats Zoro. Anyone else would have probably died during this interaction, but Zoro's tenacity and tenacity allowed him to survive, Mihawk sparing him and wondering what would happen to his challenger.

Taking down Mr. 1

We see Zoro overcome a challenging opponent

Performing during the Arabasta Arc, the members of Baroque Works gave the Straw Hats a real challenge, giving them a chance to show off how much they've grown, while also giving fans a sense of just how powerful the world around them is. Zoro's match against Mr.1, Daz Bonez, was one of the best the arc had to offer.

With his Devil Fruit powers, which essentially allowed him to turn his body into a bladed weapon, Zoro served as a tough opponent. While struggling in the fight and looking like he wouldn't prevail at one point, Zoro was able to cut through Dazo's steel defenses and claim the victory.

Using Ashura to defeat Kaku

Zoro's Growth As a Swordsman on Full Display

While Luffy always takes on the strongest member of whatever group the Straw Hats are fighting, Zoro is often responsible for the second strongest. During the fight with CP9, Zoro is tasked with fighting Kaku.

Kaku's powerful Zoan Devil Fruit makes him a unique challenge for Zoro, and there are moments in the fight where it looks like Kaku has overpowered him. But Zoro is once again able to turn things around by pushing himself beyond his limits, this time unlocking his Nine Swords Style and using his incredibly powerful Ashura: Ichibugin technique to make Kaku count.

Blocking Kaida and Big Mom's combo attack

Few people could pull it off and live

Kaido and Big Mom are two of the most powerful pirates of their time, instilling fear among most pirates and even marines. The two make a fearsome duo that could easily take down most opponents, but Zoro clearly didn't get the memo.

During a confrontation between Kaido, Big Mom and Worst Generation Members Law, Killer, Zoro, Luffy and Kidd, the former Rocks Pirates launch a massive attack on the group. With the rest unable to dodge in time, Zoro takes the brunt of the monstrous attack and briefly blocks it while the rest duck out of the way. Although he has broken many bones, Zoro's tanking attack, which is powerful, proves that he is on a whole different level than most.

To take all of Luffy's pain

Zoro shows us all that he is Luffy's greatest ally

One thing that fans love about Zoro is that he is incredibly loyal to his captain. Being a strong member of the crew and a valuable asset in battle is great, but Zoro's best quality is his belief in Luffy and his willingness to give anything to make his dream come true.

After a grueling confrontation on Thriller Bark, Kuma arrives on the scene and things don't look good for a completely battered and worn out Luffy. But Zoro intervenes and makes a deal with Kuma, agreeing to absorb all of Luffy's pain through Kuma's Devil Fruit ability. Not only does it hurt the already damaged Zoro tank even more, but it's played so nonchalantly that it's become one of the most iconic moments in the series.

Zoro cuts through the king

Pushing past his limits, Zoro takes down the Lunar

King has been Zoro's toughest opponent to date and the fight between the two stands is one of the best we've seen in a long time. More impressively, he managed to defeat King after blocking a massive attack from Big Mom and Kaido, showing how tough and durable Zoro is.

As one of the last remaining Lunarians, King's power is undeniable. While Zoro shoots King a lot, his attacks don't do much. It's only when Zoro (unbeknownst to him later) infuses his swords with High King Hakim that they do real damage. The fight results in one final encounter where Zoro uses his King of Hell technique, the Three Swords Serpent: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation, to break the king's sword, tearing off his right wing and finally laying him down.
