One Piece's So far, the Elbaf Arc has been everything fans had hoped for. Intense conflicts, big reveals, and so much more made it one of the best arcs in a long time—and considering what came before it, that's saying something. As the Knights of God prepare to take over Elbaf for world rule, Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat crew find themselves in yet another dire situation.
Elbaf has had some intense moments already, and there will likely be many more before the arc reaches its conclusion. When God's Knights are on the scene and the stakes are so high, One piece fans should be prepared to say goodbye to some of the characters who have come into conflict. These are a few characters that might not make it out of Elbaf alive.
Jarul
The time of the world's oldest giant may be over
At over 400 years old, the former co-captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates led a long and eventful life. But his time may be running out. As the Knights of God begin their attack on Elbaf, Jarul, as an elder of the nation, is caught right in the middle of the events unfolding on the island.
We've already seen Jarul willing to make tough decisions to save innocent lives, as he did when he burned down the Walrus School and the Owl Library to save 10 child hostages—including his great-great-granddaughter Ylva—threatened by Saint Sommers and the other God Knights. Jarul would not hesitate for a second to put himself in danger if it meant saving the people of Elbaf. With twisted god knights rampant over the island and Ima now tasked with Domi Reveri'd Dorry and Brogy to remove Jarul, his days may be numbered.
shepherd Sommers
A potential game-changing character death
Knights of God played a much bigger role in Elbaf than in Wano and Egghead. The current attack on Elbaf is led by Sommers, Gunko and Killingham. While they are shown to be incredibly powerful, it wouldn't be too surprising to see one bite the dust before the end of the Elbaf arc. If that happens, Shepherd Sommers seems like a likely candidate.
We've already seen Sommers surpass his class twice in battle, first against Nico Robin and then against Scopper Gabano. In the first instance, Sommers' immortality—a trait that all God Knights possess—saved him from what would have been a devastating final blow from Robin. But we saw that Gaban was able to do some real damage to him thanks to his High King Hakim. Although not fatal, Gaban was able to cut off Sommers' hand and even decapitate him. This did slow down his regeneration abilities, but it wasn't enough to put him down for good. Still, we've seen Sommers lose twice in Elbaf so far. If any of the god knights die in this arc, there's a good chance it'll be him.
Scopper Gaban
A legendary pirate on his way out?
Speaking of Gaban, the former Roger Pirates navigator has made quite an impression throughout the Elbaf arc so far. We saw how strong the “Mountain Eater” is with how well he handled Sommery in battle. Even in his old age, Gaban is undoubtedly one of the strongest fighters on Elbaf.
When we saw Gabbana, he was treating Sommers better than anyone else on Elbafa, and it seemed like he would have done the same to Gunko if she hadn't used his son Colkon as a hostage. Gaban left himself open to save Colon and was impaled by Gunk's arrows, sending him down into Elbaf's underworld. Luckily, Chopper was able to save him from falling to his death. Gaban is in a difficult situation while his wife and son are in danger. The God Knights now know that he has family connections on Elbafa and once used that against him. It wouldn't be surprising if they used it again, and Gabban might not be so lucky next time.
Jaguar D. Saul
A creepy reunion could have been a prelude to a devastating goodbye
Robin's reunion with Saul was one of the most heartfelt moments of the series so far. As the one who saved her during the Buster Call on Ohara, fans have been waiting for this moment for years. While it was worth the wait, it didn't take long for Sommers and the rest of the God Knights on Elbaf to screw things up.
Saul is last seen being badly beaten by Sommers and at the mercy of his Iba Iba no Mi. When Robin goes into hiding because he knew about the immortality of the Knights of God, things don't look good for Saul. With the situation on Elbafa worsened by Imu's arrival via Gunk possession, Saul may be in for a rough time. Not only is he a former vice admiral who betrayed the chain of command, but he is also a member of the D. clan, making him a potential target for Imu. Whether Saul is killed outright during the conflict or just Reversi'd by Domi, Robin may be in for another tragedy.
Dorry and Brogy
Two mighty giants on an unstoppable rampage
With the assault on Elbaf as overwhelming as it has been, many would look to the current co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates as the nation's first line of defense. While both Dorry and Brogy seemed ready to defend their homeland, everything went awry when Imu used his Domi Reversi ability to turn them, along with some of their crew, into demonic versions of themselves. After Dorry and Brogy are tasked with eliminating Jarul and declaring themselves Elbaf's new kings, they will have to face many of their friends and allies.
We don't yet know of any way for a character that has been affected by Imu's Domi Reversi to break free. A flashback from God Valley shows us that Rocks and some of his family fell victim to this ability and Garp and Roger had to defeat him together. Although not yet confirmed, many speculate that Harald was back to Domi Reversi when Loki and Jarul saw him impaled on the throne by his guards 14 years ago. With seemingly no way to defeat Domi Reversi's enemy short of defeating them outright, it looks like Dorra and Broga's fate may be sealed.
