8 important abilities that were not further explored in the series

Naruto is full of many interesting and mind-blowing concepts. Most of them were explained in great detail. However, there are still some important forces that remain a mystery to this day. Naruto had already finished, effectively ending hopes of these mysterious powers being explored. Once the sequel started, the lost hope was rekindled. Sadly, neither Kishimoto nor Ikemoto have shown any intention of exploring the mysterious powers, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon.

Hashirama's Wood Style Powers

  • One of the strongest Kekkei Genkai

Hashirama was the strongest shinobi of his time. He was actually called the “Shinobi God”. Under his rule, the Hidden Leaf prospered and peace reigned in the village. His Wood Release was the main reason for the village's success. The release of the wood was so powerful that it allowed Hashirama to defeat armies on his own. In addition, he was able to subdue even tailed beasts. Unfortunately, the power has never been extensively explored. All the following users couldn't even hold a candle to Hashirama and it looked like a cheap knock.

Snake Sage mode

kabuto sage mode Naruto's strongest sage type

  • One of the most versatile performances in the series

Toad Sage Mode was first introduced when Jiraiya fought Pain and was fully explained later during Naruto's training. However, the explanation was only for Toad Sage Mode and the others were swept under the rug. Because of this, Snake Sage Mode and Hashirama's Sage Mode were never fully detailed. To this day, fans don't know what kind of Sage Mode Hashirama had and how he got it. It's a real shame that fans will never know the truth.

Naruto's Sage Mode was iconic, but it took a back seat in Boruto. Now it's coming back and modernizing.

Byakugan

Hamura Otsutsuki Byakugan Naruto

  • One of the three great doujutsu

The Byakugan was introduced in the first part of Naruto where it was shown to be one of the strongest Doujutsu. In some situations it was better than the powerful Sharingan. Naturally, there was a lot of hype around the eye, but everything went to waste. In the second part, Kishimoto shifted the focus to Doujutsu, which remained the same without any visible power-ups in sight. It has so much potential, but in the end it turned out to be nothing but a massive disappointment.

Jashin's Cult

Hidan prepares to stab Asuma while his curse technique is active in Naruto: SHippuden

Immortality is a concept first introduced by Hidan. The mercenary believed in Jashin and was part of his cult. Hidan would sacrifice to Jashin who granted him immortality in exchange. Unfortunately, Kishimoto never introduced another character to be associated with the Jashina cult, which feels like a huge missed opportunity to me. It would be interesting to learn more about Jashin and how exactly he granted immortality.

Edo Tensei was once considered an unstoppable jutsu, but as it turns out there are several ways to counter it.

4

Tenseigan

Toneri otsutsuki Villains Stronger Akatsuki boruto

  • The final evolution of the Byakugan

The Tenseigan was introduced in Naruto: The Last. The first user of the Dojutsu was Hamura Otsutsuki, who used its power to stop his mother. The Tenseigan grants its user the ability to levitate as well as access to truth-seeking orbs. The user can also utilize the Tenseigan Chakra Mode. Sadly, Hamura and Toneri are the only known Tenseigan users, leaving a lot of questions. Kishimoto had the perfect opportunity to correct this in Boruto, but decided to abandon the idea altogether.

Madara's unique Mangekyō Sharingan ability

Madara's Time Rewind Technique

  • The only ability that has not been revealed

Madara's name is known throughout the world. Before the current timeline, Madara used to be Hashirama Senju's rival and fought against him countless times. As a result of immense emotional trauma, he awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan. However, Madara's special ability, the Mangekyou Sharingan, was never revealed. There are countless fan theories that suggest that Madara's Mangekyou Sharingan allowed him to manipulate time. However, fans never got a concrete answer from the author.

2

Jugo Clan Power

Jugo in the powerful form of Naruto

  • Power Similar to Sage Art

Jugo was a rogue ninja who joined Sasuke's team. He has a special ability that allows him to absorb nature's energy without forming any hand seals. This Kekkei Genkai also gives him the power to transform into a monster-like being. With its help, Jugo can regenerate and heal others as well. Like the other items on the list, Jugo Clan's Kekkei Genkai has not been explored in the story.

Rock Lee's Drunken Fist

Rock Lee Naruto

  • One of the most unique abilities

Rock Lee is a fan favorite character who has become popular due to his unique fighting style. In the first half of the story, Rock Lee could give Naruto, Sasuke, or any other Genin a run for their money. One of his standout moments came during a fight against Kimimar, who pushed him to his limits. Since Kimimaro was so superior to Lee in terms of strength, the latter had to come up with a unique fighting style and it was none other than Drunken Fist. Despite its uniqueness, this style never featured prominently in the story.
