According to The Texas History Notebook, a blog on historical affairs in Texas, Clyde's funeral services took place on May 25, 1934 at sunset, while Bonnie had another day, May 26, early afternoon. Cropping the newspaper from the time also confirms so much, and the paper notes that 50,000 people came to the bodies of duo before they had private funeral services.

In other words, in fact it happened and it is not a theory of GTA fans and theory of the Moon. Next year, May 26, will fall on Tuesday, on the day the triple-a games were historically released before Friday became more popular.
