The impact of Genshin is removed from PlayStation 4

Hoyovers announced that Genshin Impact will no longer be supported on PlayStation 4 and the game will be removed. The announcement came only a few hours ago on the Hoyolab website. The primary reason is the limited ability and size of the Last-Gen platform. The game will still be available and supported on PS5.

From September 10, 2025 you will no longer be able to find or download the impact of Genshin on PlayStation 4. After almost five years after the release, players will have to move to another platform if they want to continue playing the impact of Genshin. This means another live service game that is no longer ensured by its gaming base.

“Thank you for your lasting support and love to impact Genshin on PS4,” Hoyovers said. “Given the limits related to hardware performance and the size of the platform applications, we will end the support and updates of the impact of Genshin on PS4 in future versions.”

“The Removal and interruption plan for the impact of Genshin on PS4 will be carried out in three phases: removing the game, discarding purchases in the game and ending the update support. See detailed schedule below.” The statement also revealed that PS4 players will be able to transfer their progress to PS5. Those who have a PS4 game will still be able to play until 8 April 2026, then they will not be able to sign in to the game.
