New details on Rumored Resident Evil 0 Remake Shared Online

If there's anything as exciting, or maybe even more exciting, than getting a brand new Resident Evil game in the form of Resident Evil Requiem, it's the prospect of getting even more RE remakes in the vein of RE 2, 3, and 4.

Code Veronica and Zero have been rumored for a while to be the next games to get the “Remake” treatment, but now, via a new report from MP1st, we have some more details on Zero's status, including where it is in development.

Hint: things are going full blast.

Resident Evil Zero may have a very famous actor

MP1st's report notes that the Zero remake project has been in the works for several years and has been codenamed “Chamber,” a cheeky nod to the protagonist Rebecca's last name.

Performance capture and voice work have reportedly begun in 2024, and what's more, Jon McLaren, who was Star Lord in the massively underrated Guardians of the Galaxy video game, will seemingly have a role. The bio shared by MP1st states that McLaren has a listed “Project Chamber”.

When the game is released, it will have an expanded lore, including a section at the beginning of the game that will be further developed, giving the remake a “more cinematic texture”. We won't spoil this section, but feel free to check out MP1. piece to see how things expand.

On a final note, it looks like we won't be seeing Zero for quite some time. With Requiem targeting an early next year release, plus Code Veronica reportedly following in 2027, that gives Zero a window of 2028, which is pretty far out. Technically, we should be playing Zero by now, but the 2024 reboot had a big impact according to previous reports.

Still, if it ultimately means a better and more complete experience, then we'll take the delay.
