Pokemon Legends: ZA is already slated to receive DLC as part of post-launch support, but a firm release date for the Mega Dimension expansion has yet to be announced. Although it was controversial when it was first revealed, the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: ZA it's supposed to add a handful of missing mons from the Kalos Pokedex and other new Mega Evolutions outside of Mega Raichu X and Y, if leaks are to be believed. This DLC may be closer than players expect, and its release could be related Legends: ZA's online ranked battle season.

Recent Pokemon games contain DLC expansions released sometime after their initial release. Pokemon Sword and Shield were the first to introduce this approach after the series launched, releasing Isle of Armor about 6 months after the base game launched and Crown Tundra a few months after that. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released Teal Mask almost a year after the base game and Indigo Disk a few months after that. While Pokemon Legends: Arceus didn't have the DLC expansion, the fact that Legends: ZA announced its expansion before launch, which could mean that timeline will be shorter.

A key component Pokemon Legends: ZA is a ZA Battle Club that offers players the chance to test their skills in 4-player free-for-all battles using the game's new battle system. Players can also increase their rank in these online battles and earn rewards, including a Mega Stone for every Kalos starter in the first three seasons. Beyond these first three seasons, it is unclear what rewards will be offered to players competing in these ranked matches.

Ranks in ZA Battle Club do not drop, so players cannot lose ranks after reaching a certain milestone.

  • Greninjite – Season 1 (17 October – 6 November)

  • Delphoxite – Season 2 (TBD)

  • Chesnaughtite – Season 3 (TBD)

Mega Dimensions is leaked to add Hoenn starters

Among the missing returning Mega Evolutions v Pokemon Legends: ZA are the opening trio of Hoenn: Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert. Fans bemoaning their absence may be in luck as the trio have been revealed to be part of the merging creatures Legends: ZA in the Mega Dimension DLC. If this leak is accurate, handing out Mega Stones to these starters as seasonal rewards for ranked battles seems like a no-brainer after the starter Kalos Mega Stones rounded out the rewards for the first three seasons.
