Magic: The GatheringThe latest Secret Lair drop, one of the most anticipated of the year, has caused players to lose their place in the queue and the product has already sold out. Following the multi-IP crossover that was the Secret Lair Superdrop on October 13th, another much-hyped Secret Lair drop is coming to PlayStation today. MTG cards on October 27. This time, players are looking to get their hands on the Secret Lair Countdown Kit: An Encyclopedia of Magic, which includes 26 cards for $199.
Secret Lair specials are usually a big hit with each other MTG players, even if their starts have been pretty rocky lately. This is because the drops aren't printed on demand, meaning it's a first-come, first-served kind of deal. With bot accounts that buy products to sell later, MTGPlayStation's Secret Lair has already proven controversial, not to mention Marvel's fallout last year. The Encyclopedia of Magic is now impossible to obtain.

MTG Commander decks would benefit greatly from the new Secret Lair Encyclopedia product, considering that several of these cards are already in the core format, but unfortunately the deal is gone. In addition, many community members are already upset that they lost their place in the queue when technical difficulties occurred that delayed the start of the drop by 30 minutes.
Responses to the Twitter post announcing the 30-minute delay have been mostly negative, with fans calling for the return of the press to demand all Secret Lair products. Others complain about the fact that Secret Lair products are notoriously bought by bot accounts who later sell them for double the price or more on eBay, TCGPlayer, Cardmarket and similar websites.
Unfortunately, Secret Lair's Encyclopedia of Magic is now impossible to obtain outside of retailers, so those who spent time queuing only to be told that the product has sold out will be left empty-handed. This isn't a new problem, but it's all the more so when you consider the technical difficulties that have resulted in some fans losing their place in the queue and others getting better or worse places in it.
