Final Fantasy 14 reveals new cosmetics, but there's a catch

November 14th Final Fantasy 14 launched a new mount and two hairstyles that players can get, though real money is required. Final Fantasy 14 players who want to get all three of these new cosmetic items for their collections must spend a total of $34 in the online store.

Online store additions arrived just three days later Final Fantasy 14 released patch 7.38 on its servers. Update 7.38 was aimed at fixing some known issues with the Pilgrim's Traverse deep dungeon that could prevent players from progressing. Patch 7.38 has also removed all restrictions on the loot that players can obtain from AAC Cruiserweight Tier (Savage) raid instances, which should make the preparation process easier. Plus a poster featuring key art from Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles can now be dropped from a treasure chest in the Return To Ivalice alliance raid series that requires access to Stormtrooper get an extension.

Now, Final Fantasy 14 players have three additional items to acquire for their collections, though each requires spending some hard-earned money. Final Fantasy 14The latest hairstyles 'Modern Aesthetics — Hairstyle M' and 'Modern Aesthetics — Hairstyle F' can be purchased in the online store for $5. Each hairstyle is inspired by those used by superboss Omega in various instances, including The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) raid. Despite their titles, the Omega M and F hairstyles can be used by all player characters regardless of their race or gender. New hairstyles can be purchased as gifts that Final Fantasy 14 players can send to their friends, but only one character can use them to make a purchase. Added separate, gender-locked pieces of equipment based on Omega-M and Omega-F Final Fantasy 14's Online Store in late 2023 and can be purchased for $12 each.

Along with Omega themed hairstyles, Final Fantasy 14 holder collectors can also purchase a Hovering Hot Pot holder. This magical, floating mount can only be ridden by one player and comes with a $24 price tag. While it cannot be gifted to other players, the Hovering Hot Pot holder is an account-wide purchase. Therefore, Final Fantasy 14 players only need to buy it once to be distributed to all current and future characters on the same account.

The combined price of all three beauty products is $34, before taxes and fees. With more fresh content planned for the remaining Dawntrail patch, it remains to be seen what he will surprise with Final Fantasy 14 still has stock for players.
