Rockstar Games could be working on a potential Switch 2 port Grand Theft Auto 6according to gaming industry leaks on social media. While Rockstar Games only stated it GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in November 2026, rumors claimed that Nintendo's latest console is at least being considered for a future port.
The news of the rumored Switch 2 port came at a tumultuous time GTA 6 and Rockstar Games. On November 6, Rockstar announced GTA 6 would miss the May 2026 release window and instead be launched on November 19, 2026. The studio said the extra six months would give its developers more time to polish and optimize the game to meet consumer standards. The release date change proved significant for Rockstar owner Take-Two Interactive, as the company's stock price took a hit just minutes after. GTA 6'the delay was announced to the public.

Rockstar Games is reportedly testing the Switch 2's potential
Although rumors of GTA 6 should be taken with a grain of salt, two industry insiders have said that Rockstar Games may be considering a different platform for its upcoming game. Both NashWeedle and NateTheHate reported on Twitter that Rockstar is testing how GTA 6 could be played on the Switch 2 console, although the studio has not officially confirmed whether this was the case.
