What are the chances of GTA 6 Trailer 3 appearing at The Game Awards

The Game Awards 2025 are upon us, and with the annual celebration of the year's best video games comes never-before-seen glimpses of what's to come. And when it comes to the question of “what's next” for the video game industry, there's no clearer answer than launching a game Grand Theft Auto 6. Video game companies planned their release around GTA 6Different release dates, with Rockstar's delay giving any game that came out anywhere near the most anticipated video game of all time a reprieve. While Grand Theft Auto 6 is a long way off yet again, with many fans eager to revisit the open-world game to soften the blow – although that appearance really shouldn't be expected via The Game Awards.

Rockstar Games has a history of doing their own thing

In recent history, Rockstar has continued its trend of unveiling its games away from the biggest shows of the year. He didn't need E3, PlayStation or Xbox Showcases, Gamescom, The Game Awards, or any other stage to amplify his reach. Rockstar knows that whenever it makes an announcement, even if it comes on a random day and time of the week, gamers will immediately flock to its social media and spread the trailer like wildfire. Grand Theft Auto 6The trailers so far prove that, with debut footage of the game released days before The Game Awards 2023 and a second look at the game arriving earlier in May along with a big information blast. This approach also applies to the next Rockstar release.

Red Dead Redemption 2for example, there was a surprise reveal that came shortly after Rockstar changed their social media profile pictures to hint that something was coming. Rockstar released deep dives for the game on their own social media and avoided in-game events similar to GTA 6marketing company. The exact same approach was taken Grand Theft Auto 5announcement in 2011 with the reveal of the game and its first trailer coming directly from the Rockstar Games website, as opposed to a shocking announcement at some storefront. Rockstar has largely avoided a presence at gaming events for a decade and a half, appearing to highlight remasters or GTA Online update, handles any glimpses of his upcoming games personally. Rockstar has never shown a trailer for one of its upcoming games at The Game Awards before, so there's no reason to believe it will do so now.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 delay announcement should lower expectations for Trailer 3

GTA 6 Developer Rockstar Fires Staff

Unless someone is living under a rock, they will hear about it Grand Theft Auto 6the latest delay moving the game from May to November next year. This refusal to let Rockstar take the time to polish the game and make it as bug-free as possible was a disappointment to many fans, with hopes for Trailer 3 stemming from that disappointment. However, if the game is essentially a year away from release, there's no reason to start building hype right now. Rockstar clearly has high standards for every piece of material they release GTA 6and rushing a trailer purely to cheer up fans – as opposed to waiting for an upcoming release where it will actually serve marketing purposes – doesn't make much sense. GTA 6 A trailer 3 release anytime soon is even less likely if you look at Rockstar's wording in the latest delay announcement:

  1. When Grand Theft Auto 6 was pushed back from 2025 and into 2026, Rockstar said it “looks forward to sharing more information soon”. Sure enough, four days after the delay, a second trailer was released.

  2. With Rockstar's latest delay announcement, there was no such promise of new information being shared in the near future. Instead, the studio simply apologized and assured players that the extra wait would be worth it.

It's been weeks since the announcement of a November 19, 2026 postponement and no trailer or any indication that it's coming. While there's little chance that Rockstar will repeat history and drop a trailer a few days before The Game Awards, and even less chance that they'll break from previous trends and showcase their game at TGA itself, gamers should be prepared for Trailer 3, that the event won't be shown, and that it'll be kept under wraps for the first few months of 2026. All in all, the chances of Grand Theft Auto 6 The 3 trailer shown at The Game Awards is not good at all.
